Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Just thought I would check in and just let you all know that I had another appt with my surgeon. He was thrilled that I had lost 12.3 lbs in 36 days. He told me to keep up the good work and to continue going to the support meetings. He said he didnt need to meet with me again and that he would see me surgery day and probally see me in the office while im doing other things. In the meantime I am really trying to keep from gaining any weight. I was told I do not have to have liquid diet or a bowl prep before surgery. I just have to not eat after midnight and no fluid after 350 am (4 hours before surgery) I am very happy that in 27 days I will be through this process and join the losing side for good. My hubby and I went away over labor day weekend and went camping. we had lots of fun and i felt I over ate, but yet the scale still moved the other direction! If I can make it to 285 by surgery day I will be thrilled, but its not a reqirement. Talk to you all soon.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | we actually flooded my surgeon with questions friday. he was so understanding. I told him that they put my on blood pressure meds at the pcp and he was happy i brought them with me, after taking my pills that morning he took my blood pressure and then told me to come off them. it was a small dose anyhow but he feared my pressure was actually too low now. it was 120/60 plus i was nervous and excited because I had just found out about the 12.3 lbs. so now im off and I still feel fine.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Deb- The surgery is less then a month a way. Im very excited to get on with my new life, at the same time being paranoid that Im gaining weight again. But yet the scale doesnt more or it moves in the loosing direction. I just continue to prey that that continues. Just on Tuesday is my preop blended diet review- I guess this means im getting close. Plus nex week my temp starts here now I really know we are getting close. Im sort of nervous about the surgery because I have never had any surgery before. My hubby is also a little nervous about what it will be like with me skinnier. I told him not to worry. I think he is just nervous about any possibility of of side effects, Im more nervous about the pain of recovery, but I consider myself to have a high tolerance of pain, after all I do have 3 tattoo's!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | congrats Jessica, Good that you have lots of questions to your surgeon. You know when I was in your stage I read (WLS for dummies) book it's really good has answeres for all kind of questions related to all kind of weight loss surgeries. actually that book had prepared me mentally and emotionally before I was under the knife! Don't worry honey, it's a right decision and very rewarding. I never regret it and I'm very pleased that I did it. in fact I have one regret, that I haven't done it earlier in my life! Hugs Hanadi

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Lucky you no pre-op liquid diet. That was the hardest part for me I think. I'm just over one week post op and feeling great, Its amazing how much a difference a week makes. True the first few days were kinda rough after coming home but only because I couldn't take my pain meds without getting sick, but to be honest didn't need them. I think I was in more pain from starting my montly the same day as coming home from the hospital than anything else!!! |
