Red face New on This site

My Name is Yasmin 37 yrs old and has been obese practically all my life, but its now affecting my back and my joints. Can't even sleep at night. My surgery is scheduled for October 12 2006 and they put me on a liquid diet before my surgery date. That is really really really hard for me. I now drink 8 oz ensure 3 times a day and pureed chicken noodle soup and i am dying..Looking for any suggestion or recommendation of other fluid drink or pureed vegetable ideas

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board!! WE are so glad to have you. I have not had surgery yet but hopefully if all goes well I will have it after the first of the year. I wish you well. Good luck with the liquid diet. There are many others on the site that will be able to help you out with some reccomendations. They are all really great on here.

Hi I had my surgery on the 1st of September and I too had to do a liquid diet but for only 10 days prior to the surgery. I was able to do sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles.. which are great for curbing the hungry feeling. I could also do a little fat free cottage cheese every day. I guess every surgeon is different, but my surgeon had had the surgery himself so he was a little laid back about what we could do and how soon we had to do it. It was very comforting to me to know he had been on the other side of the table..So check with your surgeon and see if you can do any of the other things. and good luck.. i know how hard the liquid diet is!!!

First of all, welcome to the site Yasmin. I'm not the person to give directions on the ticker since I've been avoiding updating mine but if you click on Lisa's post above you, she has a link to a site that a lot of us use. Ticker factory.
Good luck on staying within your surgons guide lines. Have you read the Dummies Guide to weight loss surgery? That has lots of good info. in it. I didn't have to go on a diet of any type of food program before my surgery but I sort of think I would not have been so incapacited if I had. 20/20 insight there.
Keep hanging out here. There are a lot of really good people here all with different experiences and points of view. The cool thing is, we're all rowing in the same direction, no matter where we're at weightloss-wise

Welcome to the board, Yasmin, thank you for joining us.
Your date is coming up fast, congratulations.
The pre-op liquid diet is hard, but you'll have to stay on liquids post op, too, so consider it a time to get used to the new way of eating you must master post op. It is for your best to stay within your surgeon's guidelines, so if you want to try some variations, it's best to ask him, or the nutritionist/dietician he's assigned to you. Losing some weight pre-op makes the post op recovery easier.
As for the tickers, please check out the Tech Q forum, where the how to stuff are posted.
If there's tech info that you need, and is not posted there, feel free to post whatever tech Q you have in that forum.
Happy postings!!
((((((((HUGS))))))) May your journey go well.
