Ok so I went to the info meeting tonight.....................

I walk in to the place and its a hopsital place that has a spa and a gym and lots of confrence rooms. its attached to to the hospital. Any way, so I am looking around and this cocky lady says to us" Are You here for the meeting"? I looked around in confusion thinking how did she know? Then I realized, well da, every one else in the room was thin and new where they were going. she directed me down the hall to a room. I was put of by her thinking " how rude" oh well, it wasnt the first time! We walked into the room and saw a table with reg coke, reg sprite a couple of diet cokes, and water. Next to it was a big bowl of cookies, m&ms and nuts. I couldnt belive what I what I was seeing! A man with an ID badge ( like medical staff) came in and said help your selt to some snacks. He said"there my fav"! I sat down and watchd people come in who were over wight but not as big as me. I felt like a looser! Finnaly the man who said get some food said, boy we are going to get an ear full when the nutrionalist comes in" I blurted out good, that stuff is garbage! He said theres nuts and a little wont hurt us. I looked at DH and said Whats the joke? What are we missing?
We stood up and walked out in disguest!!!!!!!!!!







As it turned out i was truly in a info meeting but it was for the exercise training program they offered for new members. It was at a diffrent branch of the hospital and we missed the real meetting. When we figured it all out we laughed and laughed and laughed, but not before I went to the front counter to have them figure out wher I should be at and they announced it to every one in ear site that I was looking for a weight loss surgery class!They actually yelled accross the auditorm" hey where is the barriatric weight loss surgery meeting at?" All the people ( guys) from the other room where all sitting there and snickering. Ok I can get over the embarraccment but I wont soon forget the funny images in my head when the So called surgeon told me that the food wasnt that bad and that yet he said the nutrionalst is going to chew on us about the foods.

I hoped you enjoyed this little story! It was an hour drive and I laughed uncontrollable at the images of a room full of overwight people listening to a info meeting on weight loss and staring at all that junk!!! Oh know I cant stop laughing.

Last night I was mad /embaraced when it happened, then on the way home I laughed alot about it. It was crazy, but this morning I am mad again. Why do I think its ok that others treat me different because I am over weight. I didnt put this in here before, but the one guy kept talking loud and insisting on going over and over the directions to the other center. He was just older so I let it go and tried to rush him on. Now I think he thought I must be stupid not just over weight. I have heard of ignorant people talking loud to a blind person ( foolish) but never loud to a over wieght person. I guess I should be glade this was just a place they were renting, and not actually part of.

Theres a girl I post with on another site. She started calling and stuff after me, has already been to a meeting and has an apt with the surgeon, nut and every one 10 days before I even see my surgeon for the first time. I think I better just figure on this being a really slow trip. Slow and steady , isnt that what they say?

I agree that people are frankly stupid about how they talk to people when they are different.
