Lightbulb Preparing for the post-op pureed phase

After going through a fairly boring post-op liquid and pureed diet myself, I decided to make sure Peanut had a better experience with it than I did. For the last few months, I have been making a lot of fairly bland, high-protein meals and freezing the extra in single-serving leftover containers. Recipes for these dishes are scattered throughout the Recipes forum.

I've made dishes like ham and bean soup, pinto bean stew, chicken stew, etc. Now that Peanut is in her pureed stage, I'm pulling these from the freezer and sticking them in the blender to turn them into paste. Sure, the texture is missing, but the taste is all there, and it satisfies like the original did.

Beats the heck out of 101 ways to puree cottage cheese!! While you're waiting for your date to come up, you may want to consider doing something like this. One of the most frequently heard complaints post-op is with the frustration of the pureed phase and the boring nature of the food possibilities. Doesn't have to be that way if you just plan ahead!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You are so sweet Perfesser. I love a man that can cook also. That's just one of the reasons I married my hubby. I bet Peanut thanks God everyday that you too are together.

I can sew, too. Made Peanut a robe once of pink flannel with white lace trim. She wore it until she wore it out!

This is peanut. I am so grateful I have da perfesser! The pureed foods he has frozen ahead of time were good the first time and now they are making my life bearable. It is so nice to eat regular food except all mixed up together. It doesn't look that appetizing, but there are some really good crockpot recipes he used. Thanks, love
