Exclamation 2 week pre-op diet, I hope I didn't mess it up!

I am new to the posting boards and I am due to have surgery in 3 days.
I was told to be on a 14 day clear liquid diet with protein shakes as meal supplements. Well, I started it on day 12 due to miscalculating thinking I had 16 days til surgery and really was on the start day(14) Wednesday so I began it on friday the 16th of October. This whole time I have been great it just seems on day 3 I blow it. I was having massive headaches and my tummy growled uncontrollably.

This was my Diet starting Day 1
Breakfast:

2 adkins protein shakes
1 sfjello
1 sf popsicle
1 bottle of water

Lunch:
2 adkins protein shakes
1 sf jello
1 sf popsicle
1 crystal light bottle of water

Snack:
sf jello and popsicle

Dinner:

2 adkins protein shakes
1 sfjello
1 sf popsicle
1 bottle of water

I did this everyday since I started on Friday (16)

sunday (18) I had a slip up 6 slices of tombstone and 3 handfuls of Planters peanuts
wednesday-(21) I slipped with the 3 mcnuggets and 12 french fries

saturday (24) I slipped and ate 2 thin sliced pieces of fat free turkey and a 1 small bite of cottage cheese *Awful taste

Sunday(25) slipped again 2 thinslices of tyson ham rolled up.

I don't know why I ate all i know is that I wanted to get rid of this horrible headache and tylenol wasn't doing the trick.

I have been drinking about 8 bottles of water a day WHY CAN"T I FEEL FULL ??? I have til tuesday evening and I am NPO at midnight and surgery will happen on Wednesday (28) at 10am.

I fell terrible but should I tell my nurse that this has happened and will I be at risk in surgery ??

I have dropped 19.5 pounds in 2 weeks and will remain on the clear liquid for the remaining 2.5 days and I don't care how bad it gets I have to do this.

Thanks for your repys I know that when I get my new pouchy I will not be able to slip up and am serious about getting this weight off .

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your date.
(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Your massive headache is carb withdrawal. It is tough, but best not to give into it. You need to rid your body of some bad stuff, so, at certain points you will get cravings because you are going through withdrawal. You need to get the bad stuff out of your system, so do the best you can. As for the slip ups, it's basically protein, so don't worry about it unless you are gaining weight.
Surgery-wise, the most important thing is to have nothing in your digestive route at the time of surgery, so you MUST stick to the last day of liquids and the NPO.
About feeling full, do you need to feel full at this time? Eating until you felt full let you down the road to surgery. The sensation will change post op, so, right now, do your best to follow your surgeon's instructions. Not feeling full is part of the deal right at this moment.
Hang in there.

Wow, looks like you did really great so far. I can't imagine having to do 2 weeks of fluids. The main goal is to shrink the liver before surgery and you've been doing that since you've lost 19 pounds. Now hang in there just a bit longer. It IS important not to eat anything solid now, they need you to be empty for the surgery so follow the rules for these last 2 days.

Good Job!
