I slept mostly so the only thing I needed was slippers and change of clothes. I wore the hospital gowns and I think its best with so many things hooked up to you like...IV and drain tube. I was glad I did not wear my own b/c I got blood on my gown and the nurses spilt my drain stuff on it too! Other than that just personal care products. The thing I wish I had took is my own comfy pillow. When I wasn't sleeping the tv was entertaining enough.

Surprisingly I only took a few items with me. A new set of lounge pants and shirt for the trip home, the final book in a series I was reading, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, and my laptop. The hospital had chapstick and other such items in my room, and they provided wireless internet to patients and families in the room. Since the hospital is two hours away from home it allowed me to chat with my wife and kids without the long distance charges of a phone call. A very nice thing to have available.
