2 Weeks Before Surgery - Let the liquid diet begin!
So tomorrow is the beginning of the rest of my life. My surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow so I start my liquid diet tomorrow. I'm a lil worried about only being on liquid for 2 weeks but I'm looking at the big picture. Any points, suggestions, hints as to how you got through these 2 weeks if you did the liquid diet?
THANKS!!!

Well it is no fun but it can be done. It will pass before you know it. The first three days were the hardest for me. It got better after that. You can do it. It is just one step closer to the new you. Good luck with you life changing journey.

Thanks Dixie! Stupid unrelated question for you - how do you get your picture to come up under your name on the left side?

Make it to day 5 and you will be ok. For most people days 1and 2 arnt bad3-4 can be a little challenging so plan some great liquid things for those days!
As for extra motavation..... think of it this way...... what ever you cam loose up untill you check into the hospital is that much less to loose after!

Its like quitting smoking, the first 3 days are the worst. After that your massive hunger pangs (which are mostly in your head) will go away, you'll feel a TON better, and if you're anything like me you'll be surprised its over already. I had two weeks of liquid + veggies and by the end I just wanted to keep going it was just great. Good luck and congrats on your up coming surgery!!

I had my surgery 11 months ago (already?!?) and am SO EXCITED for you!!! I remember, very clearly, the struggles of the liquid diet, though my doc allowed one small meal every night. It was a "Lean Cuisine" size/type meal, but I cooked for myself, rather than buying junk. The head hunger was the hardest. Every time I reached for "just a bite" of this I would say "NO" in my head. No means no. Every time I wanted "just a taste" I would say NO! Boy that was hard... as I had no idea how much picking and snacking I subconciously did! Drink lots of liquids. You might try some of the protein shakes and shots that are out there. (Don't stock up... your tastes might change!) Find a fun way to doctor up the SlimFast... add a few drops of mint to the chocolate shake, etc. Train yourself to be the master of yourself, as you will need that control after surgery. This is a warm-up to the big game. I am thrilled for you... just thrilled! Be strong and be faithful. This is just the beginning for you!!!

Thank you guys so much for such wonderful words of encouragement. I just had my first shake which was surprisingly very good since EVERYTHING I tried was terrible but those were all pre-made stuff and this was a mix.
It's such a relief to discuss these issues with people who have been there and gone through the same things. This message board is a life saver. I'M SO EXCITED TO BE STARTING THIS JOURNEY. 2010 IS GOING TO BE AN INCREDIBLE YEAR!!!

Hello, this is my first time posting anything. I have been on my liquid diet for 4 days now. I must say that day 1 and 2 were the hardest so far. My surgery is July 22nd! How has it been for you?
