| Critical to take with you ...
When I was getting ready to go for my surgery, someone at the surgeon's office suggested it'd be a good thing to take copies of my records with me, just in case. I'm glad I listened!!
I was over an hour into pre-op prep, IVs running and wired for lights and sound, when a nurse with a clipboard came bustling into the room and told me that they didn't have the results of an important test, and they couldn't take me into surgery without it. She said that I'd have to wait until my PCP's office opened so she could get them to fax what she needed, and then they'd "fit me into the schedule somehow." (It was 6:45 AM, I had a 7:30 date with the OR, and the doctor's office opens at 9:00! )
I waved in the direction of my CPAP bag in the corner and told her that if she looked in the side pocket she'd find what she needed. She looked, she found, she copied, and the crisis was over before it had really begun.
Odds are it won't happen to you. Wanna play the odds with something this important?
Just a friendly word to the wise.

Hmmm..good idea, especially if you don't have your surgeon and PCP in the same facility.
Thanks for the good reminders.

Are these test results that they mail to you or should i ask for them . I just finished all my prep's such as diatitian , behaivior specialst and such . They are now sending it to the insurance . All involved belive i should have no problem getting aproved .So i'm hoping . But with my luck a lost test result sounds like something that would happen to me ( the only luck i have is bad luck LOL ) So i want to be ready and prepared .
Thank you for all your advice and moral support too !

I went to the doctor's office and asked for a copy of everything they had. Same with the lab at the hospital where I had all my work done. It's 90 miles from my doctor's office to the bariatric surgeon's practice and hospital, so I wanted to have it all with me.
Ya gotta ask for them, but make sure you do, especially those of you who are doing it next week!! Ask now and pick them up before you go.
