Default 23 Days Till Wsl And I Am So Rattled!

OK, I have 23 days to go and have been reading over all my class material and trying to psyche myself up when out of the blue, I here that out of 3 of my classmates that had surgery last Tuesday, 2 developed internal bleeding and had to be transfused. I am nervous, scared and not so much afraid but seriously considering writing "letters" to my children...just in case.
I am shaking and cannot get my mind on my vacation even. I assume this is ralatively normal but I am not sleeping well and at work...well I am useless.
I try to keep busy by moving furniture and cleaning and getting ready for the big day, and with vacation next week, you would think I would be excited...NOT ! Help here..need lots of words of encouragement.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Awwwww(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))
Hang in there, you'll do good for sure.
As for writing letters, many have done that, you know.
I haven't see threads or posts on the subject for a while, but there were some posts and threads on this, I think about this time last year.
If you dig deep enough, I'm sure you will be able to find them.
You know, writing letters may help you, rather than get you more nervous, putting thing into words on paper often are great sedatives.
(((((((HUGS))))))) Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

HUGS we all go thru the fears!!!
YES we know there is the chance for complications.
I only suggest pick a SURGEON carefully!
KNOW how he is with patients what his record of complications
and things are.
HONESTLY, after all my research i have to say the risks that the surgery would cause me were far less risky then living everyday of my life
a heart attack or stroke ready to happen.
SO that kept me in place with my thinking.
KEEPING busy like that is normal i know i did it sort of a NESTING
instinct that we have. PREGNANT moms do it before birth of a new baby too!
RELAX and be calm im sure you have picked a skilled talented kind surgeon in your area!
HUGS
FOR me the writing letters thing wasnt my thing but for many it is.
I didnt want to scare and worry any family member to hold such letters
in case...thats me we all cope and go thru things in different ways! THATS
what makes life so much fun. I actually had other family tragedies to tend
two weeks before my surgery...but thankfully i got thru all that and didnt
loose my surgery date as well.
HUGS

and come here to post all your nerves it helps!!!

Thanks Lisa, I have been planning this journey for so long that I think it must be a bit of overkill at this point. I have all my 'small' dishes and utensils. I have my Sudoku puzzles to work on, my scrapbooking to work on. Heve picked the various park trails I would like to walk and Have already started a bag of give away clothes...teehee. I guess I must be 'nesting' in a way. I leave for Memphis next Monday and I haven't even started packing yet. Anyone from Memphis?

DONNA,
ITS such an exciting time to prepare for!
YOUR having a rebirthday a new day
that you will celebrate the new found
health your going to get from this procedure.

GUESS while your on a role make sure you get the must haves for when your first home...has ur surgeon made mention to a multi vitamin???antiacid products???can start getting them now or calcium supplements.
AND dont forget chapstick and a phone card for the hospitol so you
have no problem phoneing long distance!!!!
so many last mintue things to tend.
I konw i had even bought small little dixie cups bathroom size
so i didnt feel overwhelmed drinking small amounts from bigger
cups and was able to keep track of my sips that way better.
FELT i made better progress from those tiny bathroom sized
cups!

THIS link has great lists for shopping!!!!

Lisa, thank you for your suggestions. I have my list all made for the packing...I have heard different stories about taking something to read or do while in the hospital. Am I going to even have the energy or the sttention span to read or do SudoKu? I will have my sur gon a Tuesday and be d/c'd on Friday if all goes well. That's a lot of time doing nothing.

Hi there...All of what you are feeling is normal. This is a major surgery and it is going to change your life forever. Nesting is totally normal as well. I was so nervous and scared before surgery . I am sure you have done your research and are well prepared for the road ahead. Its going to be a whole new way of life. You will be healthier and happier. Your children will be able to enjoy doing things with you again. Its amazing this journey but it does have its bumps in the road. Anything you want takes hard work. I did write letters to my family and kept them in a safe place that only my hubby was aware of. I did this every time i had major surgery. This is a personal decision. Hang in there your day is comming and we will be here on the loosers side waiting for you.
