Default Interesting article on binge eating after WLS.

Found this via Facebook. I liked it very much (the article...not the subject matter) and thought some of you would enjoy it too.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

It's neither for nor against. It just reports on some research findings that relate to us and warns us of some of the inherent challenges we face. Odds are good that many of us have addictive personalities. Our food addiction may indeed have been a factor in shaping our life pre, and the success we have in dealing with it will be a factor in shaping our life post.

We often say that 90% of this journey is mental, and the surgical modification is only a tool to be used with skill. This article confirms that if our minds aren't in the game, we may lose it (as in regain what was once lost.)

That's not pro or con. That's our reality. If you analyze the posts by or about those who fail, you can see exactly the same thing. We already knew all of this. This just validates it.

Thanks I need it as I do have a food addiction have as long as I can remember and I do have struggles daily with food and choices. I do worry that I will fail and I have mentioned this several times here on the boards. I think of food all day long 24/7 and it has been this way my whole life. I do not eat sweets, and try hard to stay away from bad carbs. All I know to do is watch my intake, follow the rules about drinking before and after meals and exercise. Of course protein first then veggies. I also see a therapist by-weekly who sees my daughter and sees me for free. I am always open and honest to her and she helps me see the truth.
