Default I'm just 8 days out now!

I'm starting to get oh so emotional. DH & DD don't quite know what to think of all of these emotions that are running away with me. I'm so excited to get my life started. I'm not afraid at all - I'm just sooooo teary-eyed! Normal? TIA!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Butterfly Girl... do you mind if I ask you a few personal questions??

Where are you going in Mexico? How long did it take to get scheduled? How much is the cost?
If you don't want to answer, I'll understand....
My surgery is scheduled In Charleston, SC; takes about 2 months to get on the books once you've had your work up. It's going to cost $27,000 cash up front. I've been looking at the clinics in Mexico, but, haven't spoke to anyone who's had it there. I'm very curious about this option and would like to hear from someone who's actually gone thru it.
Hope to hear from you............

Default Butterfly.....

What you are talking about sounds oh so familiar. I went through that, and sometimes still do. I was to, as you said, very happy with what I had done. Somedays though, I found myself acting like a hormonal pregnant lady. No offense girls. lol NORMAL, so I to was told here on the site. That eased my mind. To this day, I find myself, and I wouldn't admit this to just anyone, getting teary eyed over a freakin commercial. I sometimes wonder if that will ever stop. If it doesn't, I am content to live with it. NO BIGGY, in my book. It just is really weird how the body changes after surgery, in more ways than one. Hang in there, you are doing great, and I am glad to hear that you are doing so well. A great big squeeze from your ol' pal.

Butterfly what you're going through is totally normal. I had sleepless tearful nights before I did the surgery. I had a fight at the hospital because the room I reserved was given to another patient and they switched me to like 2 or 3 rooms before I got settled in! the private hospital which I did my operation there was just recently renovated and their prices were beyond anybody's imagination and they were not ready to open but of course they opened for the money that's all..so I had many mixed feelings about the hospital mess and about the operation..I can remember that wen I was on the bed before I went to the operation room I had roller coaster motions and wanted to take the anesthesia ASAP because the Doc's were around me and were arguing about the undelivered stables so I was like OMG what's going on..put me asleep please!!!!!!!!!
hehehehe

please forget about everything and just focus on the new life that you'll have.

you're in my prayers and good thoughts

Oh thank you so much everyone! Mike I'm crying at every emotional commercial, too!!! I just love all of you so much - thank you so much. Nettie, I am not having my surgery in Mexico. I am having my surgery in Bogota, Colombia. The total cost of the package airfare, hotel, pre-op tests, and e'thing included is just 12.5. I have interviewed EVERYONE (and they dont' just put their success stories up on their website), I have done my homework and I cannot wait! The turn-around is usually about a month, but for us it depended on us getting financing through our house. FYI everyone they are soon offering a plastics package! Not one of us question Hanadi having her surgery in another country, right? It's a very personal decision and one that I am soooooooooooooo excited about. Now about those darn tears....

Deb are you out there? What about you Janae? I know that many don't support my decision to leave the country, but have faith!

Just to clarify. Hanadi didn't have surgery in the US, but she did have it in her home country. So, the situation here is a little bit different from having surgery in a country where you do not reside, nor have a familiar base with. If you do have surgery out of the bounds of your familiar space, make sure that you will have a good medical support system set up on your home grounds before surgery.

I understand that Doc, I think more my point was - it's still a foreign country and sometimes we Americans think we corner the market on everything. I'll still see my slated surgeon here, I'll still see my same nutrionist, and I'll still be involved in the same support group. There seems to be so much resistance to anyone going outside of the US - I was just trying to make a simple point.

Thank you to those that have supporte dme.

I think part of the resistance of going out of the US is about how much professional post op support you can get back home, because you do need life long post op care. If you've been able to clear that part, having the surgery itself done by a fully trained and qualified surgeon wherever he/she is, is a viable option, especially if the surgeon has a well trained staff as well.
If you (whomever you are, here I mean anyone who is having the surgery) are satisfied that you have cleared these conditions, then it is your choice, and should be respected as such.

As for you, Butterfly, your own experience will be additional information for others in researching and making their choices, so please do keep us posted on your progress.
((((((((HUGS)))))))) Wishing the best for you.
