Default Am Backkkkkkkkkk !!!!!!

Hi Guys and Gals
Well am eventually home and have just read all your messages. Thank you very much for them its been appreciated.

So - am now back at home. Still in some pain from the op, but apparently my stitches are abit tight according to Mr O Boyle and it will all settle down soon enough. I am finding that approx 4 tablespoons of soup and 3 tablespoons of icecream feel right to me and I dare not risk eating anymore than this. I also leave my milk until about 45mins after my food. Can you tell me if I'm doing things right please.

Also any suggestions for food to make sloppy would be great too. Just had the yogurt and pure juice mixed for tea it was lovely. Anyway its good to be back and thanks again for your support both before, during and now after my op - it really is needed and appreciated.
Love

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome back, and congratulations on joining the Loser's Bench!!!
For ideas of recipes, check out the Gastric Bypass Recipe forum.
But, for now, take it easy, take it slow, and follow your surgeon's instructions to the T.
Rest well, get in all the liquids you can to prevent dehydration.

Keeping you in my prayers for an uncomplicated recovery.
(((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

Welcome to the looseing side.
I guess its hard to offer you food suggestions
being every surgeon puts us on different eating plans.

I know for me first two weeks home i was only allowed clear
liquids
i then was moved week 3 post op to milk based products...
then i was on pureed/soft.....
and then slowly other foods added slowly....

so what stage are you on so i can help with suggestion?
i know for me i enjoyed noodless lasagna (lofat ricotta cheese,
lofat mozzerella and tomatoe sauce) micorwaved YUMMY!

I guess im concerned about the icecream you mention? I know that early u need to focus on protein and i dont think icecream has enough protein.
Possibly a protein pudding would work or protein shake.
I know my rules were to have 70 to 75 grams of protein a day so to get there all the little bits i could eat had to be protein focused.
HOPE it helps!
hugs
lisa
and glad your surgery went off so well!

CONGRATS!!

Hope you are feeling good! Best suggestion for food and diet is whatever your surgeon says. Everyone has their own diets given to them by their surgeons and everyone will have great suggestions however the best person to talk to is your surgeon and of course a nutrionist if your surgeon works with one. We can recomend things that worked for us however some things that i could tolerate at certain stages others couldnt and visa versa. ITs like being a baby all over again, trial and error.....a good example of this is eggs. SOme people can tolerate them as soon as their diet is progressed to that stage and others it takes months before an egg sits well with them...

ANyway WELCOME HOME AND CONGRATS again....Your a looser! Wohooo

thank you guys for all your messages of support. I'm now 8 days post-op and all is going well. I've had no dumping of any kind and have even managed to lose 11lb - so am well pleased.
