Default Got My Consult Done

I went today to have my consult done today. Im a prime canadiate. YES! They have to do the Physic consult and ENG and of course that preauth from my insurance company. Im not worried about any of them. I meet the critera as far as the insurance company. I hope that dont backfire on me. It shouldnt.

I had to put this consult off because of a meltdown at work with a woman I work with. Had to move the date up a week so she could get over her melt down. When she got wind of me having this surgery done she freaked out about ???????? Me having to be off more than one day at a time. Have any of yall delt with that? LOL Thank god I got it cleared with the Dr I work for before leaking it to any of my coworkers. GEESSH!!!!!!!
The word I got from him was..... I dont know what her problem is besides the fact she might feel overwhelmed but you need to do this.

I wonder if people get jealous? Perhaps? Like I told her I would trade my body for hers any day and see if she could deal with things.

Its almost 2 am I cant sleep so Im just here typing. Nerves yes, but good ones I think. I want this done yesterday. The Dr ya know tells you all the what could happen..... And I just told him.....ya know the surgery dont scare me as bad as what will happen to me If I dont have this done. He said yes I totally understand that. When asking in a round about fashion if he lost anyone to this surgery he said no. But it will happen one day he was sure of that. The reason he stated Is goning to be somone who dont tell him everything he needs to know to proceed.

I will say this hes very proficent and very upfront with things. Shows the pictures of exactually what he will do. And the reasons why he wont do the banding procedure. I never knew that...... back in the 80's they did a simular procedure as the banding today.

The toughest thing I am going to have to do is stop smoking. I have to do this for atleast one month before the surgery or he wont touch me. I have a Rx for Chantix, bought Commit, and Going to get patches. I figure Im gonna patch myself first. Cheaper way. My job is so stressfull I dont know how im gonna get through a day without one LOL.

Protein drinks I do have a question. I need flavor without chalk taste. Can anyone help me with that? The chalk taste will make me hurl for sure. Like Slim Fast any thing but the Choclate was so chalky to me. What is good to start getting to keep on hand? I did address the hair loss with him. He did say yes your gonna lose hair but it will grow back and somtimes better than before. Wow nice curly hair would be great LOL. Im kidding. As far as my teeth issue I have asked about before... He stated that the lack of calcium could possibly do it however he has not noted anyone complaining of it. If i had good teeth before hand I should keep them. So that is a issue I feel much better about.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Congrats and I want to add something about the protein. I am pre-op myself, so I don't know how the taste will change after, but UNJURY Strawberry Sorbet, mixed with Crystal Light Lemonade instead of water. YUMMO!

My nut told me to try it. I thought she was crazy but tried it. It's wonderful. Not like protein at all.

hello,
i am having surgery the 24th. i was a smoker for 25 years. tryed everything out on the market to quit the habit. nothing worked until i tryed chantix. guess what! i have quit. chantix is so wonderfull. couldnt have done it without them. my hubby saw that they worked on me and he went to get a perscription. he has been quit for 10 days now. he said he wouldnt ever start smoking again. the pills work. i have been quit for 7 weeks. i dont want one taking the pills. they stink as of now. try thm instead of the patches. and you wont need the gum with them. smoke with them for at least a week. you will put em down.

LOL thanks Spikey i will do that. That chalk taste is so horrid to me. Thanks for any input you can give me on that.

Leanna thank you. I found someone that has done the Chantix. So it really does work good. Great. I have heard so many things good about it. A surgeon told a girl i work with that hes prescribed 100 people with it. All of them stopped but one. He said he thought the fella never attempted it. This is going to be a blessing for allot of us.

You know we would quit if we could people don't understand that. I will fill the Chantix within the week and let you know how I'm doing with it. The only reason I haven't yet is the insurance wont pay and its a $100.00 for the first month. But I will fill it and so will my hubby. Hes my support in this. He wants to stop smoking to. Thank you again !

Default Congrats!

You are surely on your way Missy. I am so very happy for you. Everything is moving in the right direction. I am glad for that, because some of these poor people on the boards have been dealin with setback after setback. We will work as a team to give them all the positive boosting we can.
With the work thing, boy can I relate. It was always the same thing. How long are you going to be off?....Why are you having it done?......Will you be able to perform all you old duties when you return? Good greif. Well, with all that said, and answered, I had the surgery. Doing great to this day. Down to my ideal weight. Now, according to my fellow coworkers, and the gal that hired me, I am annorexic. lol No lie! They have said it right to my face. I do agree with your thoughts. They are to a point, jealous. They way I feel is, I worked hard to get where I am at, and I give a hoot what other people think. Personally, I think it is more of the fact that society has grown so accustomed to what normal is, that when they see someone who is of normal weight, they look too thin. Being that society, as a whole, is overweight. I feel for those people. Honest, I do. We all know what it feels like to be overweight...even obese, or worse. We don't ridicule each other though, and that is what I love so much about this site. Hang in there kiddo. We are here for ya, dear girl.

Msvickie...
could i get more information on the chantix?????

IS that the point of the med that it makes you not
like the smoke so you quit? would love it for my
hubby. I feel its worth the 100 for the script being
ciggies are pretty costly too!
DO you stay on this forever?
or until you get the urges in control????

thanks for more info on the CHANTIX!

Hi ya Lisa

Yes its called CHANTIX. I have found out alot of insurance companys will pay for it. Mine wont. If you have BCBS they are picking up the price minus the copay. If you have TRICARE they wont.
I asked a company drug rep how this stuff works. He stated what you do is that you start taking the meds. And continue to smoke with it. On the seventh day you should be able not to even want to smoke. I have a friend tell me it was the 10th day for her but she stopped. This med is supposed to help you stop smoking. It also seems to help with some depression that goes with the stopping smoking and the weight gain. Its like 3 in one. I know the Drs. are pushing it hard. They belive in this.

You are given a packet for the first month follow as directed. You will take this med for a total of three months. That is supposed to be it.

When I got my RX they give me a pamplet with information all about it and a hard plastic card. Its for support if you need it. Chantix .

Leanna is on it now in here. I will get mine filled later this week.

Leanna thank you again and keep it up girly im right behind ya
