Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | My surgery date it May 15. I know it's getting close, but I'm not sure I can take 2 and a half more weeks of these *#@! protein shakes! I'm crabby and irritable all the time and I can't stand myself. I don't know how my family is putting up with me. I cried myself to sleep last night. It's not like I'm going to change my mind about this, but this part is soooo hard for me. Have you noticed that advertisements for food are EVERYWHERE?!! Come on, I just want a decent salad...or ANYTHING!My doc says I have to do these shakes until my surgery, and the amount I get will be decreasing as the date comes closer. I'm down 13 lbs in two weeks so far, but I don't feel better or look better. I just hate this!! Thanks for listening to me VENT. I know many of you have been down this road before. I would enjoy hearing your experience with this. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Your feelings are totally normal.....Remember food is our best friend ....we giving up our best friend..not and easy thing to do. This means we have to find alternatives to eating, not an easy thing to do. But once you have the surgery and begin to see the results it will all make sense to you. People always say nothing tastes as good as being thin feels and let me tell you ,,,,,they are so right. Hang in there, keep venting, even if you have to write your feelings here every day...we all know what you are going through, its a tough journey espically in the begining but i promise it does get easier. Nowdays sometimes i even forget to eat....never thought i would ever say that. Your life turns around and you start to eat to live not live to eat......One step at a time. Know your not alone, your feelings are and were felt by many here. You will be so happy and healthy very soon. Your family im sure totally understands. This is for their benefit also. Hang in there.... LittleLisaMarie ![]() |

| Super Moderator | ((((((HUGS))))))) Pre op this time is one of the hardest things you have to endure. However, when you look back, I'm sure you'll see it all happening in a blink of your eyes. And yes, the end results will be worth every bump and tears you've had to endure. Wishing you an uneventful surgery and uncomplicated recovery. Keeping you in my prayers.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Honey I dont have any help for you but to just be here for you through it. My best friend told me that she went though this afterwards. She would call me up just yelling about her son and her boyfriend at the time eating. That is all they had to do was eat near her. She had to end up taking herself away from them while they ate and wouldnt cook anything for them. It worked out well because her son was old enough to fix himself somthing to eat or his her mom and dad would bring it to him. She loves to needle point. That is what she did during that time she couldnt eat just have the liquids. It helped her alot. She loved the outdoors to so she would sit outside and do this while they ate. Her son would even spray deodorizer after he ate and brush his teeth right away to keep the smell down. I had to hug him for that. I will have to face this road myself and I hope I can live with my own words to you. I have alot of intrest in my flower gardens im just now starting to tend to and plant. I love the water to. Just to watch it. I will have to find me a creek to call my own for a few weeks im sure. Just come here and read or vent somemore. We are here for you honey. That is why they made this place so we could have our own little world to come share with people that have did this or will soon start. Smile sweeite. Just think in 2 weeks its gonna be behind you and you will have a new life to look forward to. silly%20photos%20209.gif Besides they need it somtimes? I hope that made ya smile ![]() |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Just wanted to pop in and offer you more encouragement! ITs a difficult time yet a time thats so well worth it. I think its important to do some sort of eating plan just before surgery, not matter what the form to avoid any more gain. HONESTLY, looking back for me, if i wasnt put on something (for me i had to loose 25 lbs) i would have easily gained more weight and be stuck wallowing around in a last super syndrome. SO be thankful and your getting an early jump on getting that scale moveing downwards! ITS not easy pre op! AND its easy to say if i could do this why would i need this surgery but its for your safety too and well being. ALL the best and the days are getting near! GLAD you got to enjoy some wonderful weather.... dont forget to pack some chapstick for the hospitol.....!!!! all the best

| Not eating can be MIND bending. I'm a chef and of course, around food constantly. Before my WLS I only had to to do clear liquids for the 3 days prior & that was hard for me so I can imagine how you must feel now. For what it's worth, by being on the shakes as long as you are, there will be more room for the air when they pump you for the WLS. Hopefully this will prevent you from being as SORE as I was. I couldn't get in and out of bed, toilet or couch by myself for 2 weeks. NOT fun. Very painful. Think of this time as a head start and the ROI you will have later as a result. It is SOOOO worth it even if it hurts now. You will see. Hang in there. You can do this and we are all here to help! I'll be thinking and praying for you.
