Default Jello! Oh joy! (not)

Hi everyone, I've missed you! I just got back from being out of town for a few days. Tomorrow I begin my 10 day liquid diet and will spend today making another batch of homemade chicken broth and yes my favorite.... that disgusting jello! I'm going to try and make it to a thinner consistency and see if that helps it go down a little easier.
Monday I have my final consult with my surgeon and my pre-op appointment via telephone with the hospital. I'm also attending 2 support groups next week. At the one I've been attending once a month we are going to be sharing our favorite recipes.... just what I want to hear when I'm on day four of the pre-op diet! Then on Wednesday I'm going to attend a new group at the Vita Lady's house so I can meet new people. I think I'll shop for some protein while I'm there after I see what I like from the samples I bought a few weeks ago. I'm afraid to buy too much since hearing how people's taste changed after surgery.
Did any of you go into the nesting syndrome before surgery? I feel like I did when I was pregnant and getting ready to deliver.... wanting everything done before the big day! I know I shouldn't stress but I am. My anxiety is up there and my mind won't quit racing or bouncing around on which tasks to accomplish first. Even making a list isn't helping this time.
Well I better get the chicken on and that disgusting jello mixed up... have a great day friends. Hugs

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Nesting OMG. I did that. I didn't think about it until you mentioned it. I would love to make some chicken soup if it wasn't so dang hot here.

I don't mind jello, but I know others just find it hard to stomach!! Hey just think this is your last hurdle though, you can do this for sure!! Who knows you might start liking jello!!?? LOL
I did do a little nesting but then the last couple of days I think the nerves hit and I just didn't really know what to do.

I'm so excited for you, it wont be much longer now. We will be dusting off the loser's bench for ya!!

I, too, am really excited for you.
I bought SF ice pops.. they were ok; but I think there are still some in the freezer (from last Jan.) I should toss them.
I keep thinking back then what I ate. clear liquids, hmmm such a drag. I didn't do them til after surgery, I wasn't assigned a preop diet..so it was different for me.
I wish I could wave a magic wand for you and make this all easier. It is kind of like
you are fasting; well you should lose a chunk of weight with it for sure.
Take care... try a spa day or something to perk you up.
THis too will pass, ok? Chin up.
All the best.

Hey PW, I'm picking up my sf popsicles today. I don't think I would have cared for them in January... Brrrrrr... too cold! The weather has finally turned warm here so they will be good.

Nell, its not the taste but rather the texture of jello I have a hard time with. I just made a batch that will hopefully come out a little thinner consistency. My chicken stock sure smells good though!

Rest well everything will soon be over, just think you will soon be able to eat pureed foods, that phase will end soon to. You are doing what is natural so you are right on schedule. HUGS.

Nesting? Most definetely. You are not going to want to do much of anything after surgery except rest, sip your liquids, and walk as much as you can. Good luck on the pre-op diet. Just remember, its not forever. And those sugar free pops will be a life saver, both before and after surgery. Soon, you will be on the loser's bench with the rest of us.
