This morning I had my appointment with the surgical center at the hospital via telephone. This afternoon is my final consult with my surgeon! I can't believe I'm only a week away! I'm not doing bad on the liquid diet and I just haven't been thinking about the surgery a whole lot because it just gets my anxiety up. I've had so many surgeries that I kind of know what to expect before hand. It's the after that has me anxious. Better to just not think of it now and deal with things one day at a time. Hugs |

I just got home from the consult and I'm feeling really tired. Probably a combination of 'anxiety after-burn' and also this stupid liquid diet. My appointment went real well today and my DH made it also. I got all the consents signed then filled my scripts and got some blood drawn. Since my insurance no longer covers PPIs I couldn't afford to get the Prevacid solutabs. They wanted a whopping $327.00!!! I need to call my surgeons office tomorrow and find out if I can do the OTC capsules. The pharmacist said that I can empty 2 of them 2x a day into liquid but to check with my doctor first.
While in my appointment I voiced my anxiety of "will I be successful" and "will I be able to maintain my weight loss". I almost cried at my surgeons response...
He said that after 6 months of getting to know me that he knows how committed I am and how compliant I've been to the rules, so he thinks I will do better than average. He told me he expects I will have a higher percentage of excess weight loss and have really good outcomes on all my comorbidities. It met everything to hear this from him. I only lost 2 lbs but thats ok... its much better than gaining!
