Hi Everyone,
my surgery is scheduled for this friday and I am starting to get nervous. Please share your surgery stories with me. I think knowing what everyone else experienced will help me.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Congratulations! My surgery was uneventful. I fell asleep and then I woke up! The recovery wasnt too bad either. I had my surgery on 4/19 was released on 4/21 and had minimal soreness or pain. I havent really had any complications or issues. I have lost 20 lbs to date. I am not that far post op, but feel free to ask me whatever you like.

Knowing that the people here were very honest and willing to share was what made it easier for me. I went into surgery very prepared and with good support from the group here.

Soon you will be well on your way. I wish you the best of luck. Keep us posted.

just wanted to stop in and wish you the best of luck for a text book perfect surgery and an uncomplicated recovery!
I had surgery on a WED am, had a leak test on friday, started on clear liqiuds after passing that test and was discharged on sat am.
MY recovery was well had its tuff moments!
I was strong and weened off my pain meds fast being i hated takeing them crushed nasty. I returned to my work early at 12 days. and the first nights home slept sitting up in a chair...laying down was hard.
IT was a wonderful experience for me. I remained on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks, moved to milk based liquids next for a week then up to my puree diet after.

HOPE that quick summary helps!
hugs

((((Camick))))

I know there are no words that can take that nervousness away. I was sooo nervous Sunday night. All weekend I just kinda shut down and didn't do ANYTHING that I needed to do. Almost like I was turning my back on the surgery and everything. But I asked myself......is this really how you want to live your life? Or are you going to do something about it? I made that decision right then, I will proceed. Regardless how scared I was, this was something I needed to do, to get my life back. I'm praying for an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery for you. As far as diet, I was on 10 day clear liquids before, and will be 1 week after. Then 1 week regular liquids, then pureed for weeks 3 & 4. But, I guess it all depends on your surgeon and what health issues you have? I'm not really sure. But honestly, I'm not even hungry at all. Actually, the smell of food is kind of sickening lol!!!! I did eat some jello today, and I'm going to push a little broth. But I have been pushing my water. Good luck!!! We are here if you need us.
