Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I had to do a 1-week one. It involved lots of water, jello, broths. You'll find others here didn;t have to do any, some had to do 1-week and some had 2-weeks (there might even be a 1-month one out there too!).

Anyway, I fuond it to be a great jumpstart to my new life - I committed to it withou any issue and that's when I knew I was mentally ready for the journey!

good luck!

When I asked at my last RD visit she told me my doctor requires a 2 week pre-op liquid diet as well. Good luck, I should be right behind you shortly!

I did a 2 week pre-op diet. Protein shakes for breakfast and lunch. And 4 oz of protein and 4 oz of veggies for dinner.

I did two weeks and lost 15 pounds. Days 3-4 are the worst as your metabolism runs out of easy carbs and has to shift over to burning fats. My wife did two weeks and was packing to go up to the hospital when the surgeon's office called and pushed her back three weeks. So she came off it for a week and then did two more weeks. Lost 20 pounds total in those 5 weeks, which made it much easier for the surgeon when he hit a snag inside her.

It'll test how committed you are. Consider the extent of your compliance as an indicator of your long-term success. If you can't follow this for two weeks when asked to by your surgeon, think seriously about what that says of your chances of following the WLS rules for the next (how many?) years!

Countless numbers of us have done it, and we aren't supermen or superwomen. We're just committed to give this new life every chance we can to work! You can do it too!

Welcome to the RR family!

Count me as one that also had to do the 2 week liquid diet, yeah the first few days are rough but you get used to it and it's really not so bad.

I only had to do 24 hours. But I did do liquids only about a month before because I had gained 10 lbs in a month and the Dr. rescheduled my surgery. So she said that if i could lose the 10 lbs, that we would go ahead with the surgery. It worked and the surgery went on just a week later then scheduled.
If you really want it, you can and will do it. Good luck
