Man this 6 month wait for insurace coverage is killing me. I find I'm an constantly Thinking about the surgery. Sure its a good thing to diet and get ready for the surgery but geez 6 months!! I will jump thru all of there hoops and still have to wait for approval that may not come. I will presevere. I will lose some wait and hopefully learn how to eat the WLS way and it certainly won't kill me I will be better prepared one way or the other. But Geez 6 months. Thanks for letting me rank

| I know how frustrating the wait seems in the beginning but you are thinking along the right lines. I had to also wait six months. Time really does pass quickly and putting the rules into practice now will help you to not only lose weight now but it will help you to be an even better post-op success. Just keep learning all you can and your day will be here in no time! Hugs |

I had to do that also. I felt the same way that it would never pass. Well it did and I am so happy that it did. Good luck it will be here before you know it . It will be so worth it.

Started my 6 months today. Met with my nutritionist. She seems very nice, no pressure to lose weight yet, more to become aware of my food choices (serving sizes) and walking a bit more and trying to eat in the morning which I’m not used to. I need to flip my food intake so that I’m not eating my large meal in the PM and then being hungry after a few hours. Seems reasonable.
And so it goes………

You can do it, before you know it you will be in and out of the hospital and eating pureed foods... just keep thinking positive thoughts. IT WILL HAPPEN.

My six months were horrendous! Especially when I thought it was my last visit and the doctor told me I had two more months! I was like WHAT!? I swear i already had six months. I finished my six months in September and I am just a couple visits away from getting my approval for the surgery.
I am willing to wait because I know it is so worth it! My sister, father and mother have all had the surgery and to be the only fat one in the family stinks. I'm excited to fit in a little more with the family, haha.
Good luck and stay in touch, you can always message me for support!

I know what you mean. I'm looking at a date for early March(God willing). My required weight loss was 35 pounds and as of today I lost 39 and I still have 2 1/2 months left before my pre-op. Surgery too is all I ever think about. I get on this site, read the posts, and see the wonderful accomplishments in order not to lose hope and keep my eye on the prize...good luck on your journey. It will be here before we know it.

I remember that like it was yesterday. I too had that wait. I found that it strengthened my resolve, gave me the time to learn & begin behaving how life would be like after the surgery. I was not happy with the wait either. But, in the end, I have to say that I really appreciated that time, and as a bonus, it allowed me to lose some weight prior to the surgery too. Don't worry, it will go by faster than you think it will.
