Default 6 days until RNY GB!

Hi all, I have been mostly lurking since finding this wonderful site, and soaking up all the wisdom to be found here! I am a 41 year old mum of one in New Zealand, and my RNY gastric bypass is scheduled for Tues 18 Oct. I am into my second week of a 2-week pre-surgery Opti-fast 3x a day diet, and boy has that been a roller coaster ride, lol. My emotions have been all over the place from excited to terrified and back again. Currently I am having a really good day and feeling strong and positive. Work keeps my mind pretty occupied and getting prepared for the first 6 weeks after surgery is also a helpful 'distraction', lol. I have lots of lovely support around me and have been able to take 5 weeks of paid sick leave to give me the best start possible. I have been 'bingeing' on the Before and After photos - they are amazing! Whilst intellectually I know this surgery is giving me a great tool to aid my weight loss and health goals, it is hard to imagine being at a normal weight as it has been about 18 years since I was .

Thank you all for the advice and sharing that you do here, it really is helpful to us newbies. I am looking forward to sharing my B&A in the next year or so!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
