Red face Help..need some reassurance

Hi everyone,

I just need some reassurance, my family is no help when it comes to optimism. My surgery date is set for March 2012 and until then I need to lose 25 pounds. I've been on Atkins for a month and a half and have not lost much at all if any. Excersice is very difficult for me due to the lipedema gets my legs so exhausted when I walk half a block. I feel like I'm walking on quick sand. I'm afraid if I don't lose the 25 pounds, my doctor will cancel my surgery. I've hit stalls before but never when beginning a diet. This really has me concerned. Any help, advice, ideas, and even jokes would be welcomed. Thanking you guys in advance.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well, the one good thing is you have a little while to lose the 25 pounds and maintain it. I'm sure it will happen, just don't get frustrated and give up.
As far as exercise maybe you could look on youtube for exercises you could do from a chair. Or use some resistance bands they are a great source for exercise. Any movement you can do will benefit you in the long run.
Hang in there I know it all seems overwhelming right now but believe me it will be so worth everything you have to go through. Sending you lots of positive thoughts!! (((hugs)))

Is there a pool near you? Water exercise might be something that you could do. Hang in there and stick with the diet. Be sure you are drinking a lot of water. That really helps. Good luck. We are here for you.

Sitting on an exercise ball can be exercise in itself. If you happen to have one hanging around.

One of the things I discovered after my surgery is that when I went on Atkins before I thought I was doing pretty good just eating a lot of meat, but what I know now is that the meat I chose was still way too high in fat and that's why it didn't work well for me. Instead of doing pure Atkins, I would suggest you try making some of the meals in our recipe forum, or trying to eat the foods we eat - just in larger quantites until you get the surgery. Check out the daily "what are you eating" threads for some ideas.
