Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I think you'll get just about everything you need to know of, if you read through this board thoroughly.

For me it is simple.

Life is MUCH better being at a healthier weight. Not just the obvious things, but being able to tie my shoes comfortably. WANTING to go for a walk to the park with my kids, having more energy for life, sleeping better, being able to be a more complete person.

I had, little by little, whittled away my life until I was an empty, fat man. I thought I was comfortable, until I found out how very wrong I was.

I would have done this MUCH sooner, and worked much harder to not need the WLS if I had known how great I feel now.

Oaspio, I am looking forward to being able to bend over and tie my shoes rather than sit and angle or just slide them on. Even to be able to see my feet while standing is exciting to me.

Hi New Beginnings.. are you NE PA?or NE Phila?
My pre surgery stats were very similar to yours. I may be an inch taller.
To be honest, I can't think of 1 thing I wished I knew before surgery that I didn't know. I went to the required classes and support groups and feel anything I needed to know I learned there. The other thing is my mom had ByPass in the early 70s. She had no classes and no support and no eating plan. When I thought of having surgery I often looked back to her experiences..even with out the education we have now, she did very well- lost weight and maintained the loss.
I do wish had the surgery sooner. Mom is gone now, and she would be pretty happy to see me right now; healthier and I guess happier. I wasn't unhappy before, but I was when I went shopping for clothing. Nothing fit.. alot of 3 Xs didn't fit. Now I can shop on the skinny side. Who knew? Good luck!

Hi Pretty Woman.

I am in North East, Pennsylvania. I am right by Lake Erie.

I hate clothes!! Okay, I don't hate clothes I hate sizes. I remember seeing a commercial recently where a woman went to buy jeans by how she was feeling that day (sassy, flirty, fun, etc.) and not by a number. I want to shop THERE.

I'm excited to not have to take the plethora of medications and have the CPAP machine. I'm ready to be able to spend time with my son outside and actually do something other than sit down because it's too exhausting to chase him. I want to be HEALTHY and HAPPY again.

Wow, that just kind of spilled out of me. :-)
