Pulmonary Eval:
They measure your neck! (With a tape measure.) (everytime I go they do that.)
The doctor listens to your chest, sees your weight and BP... then, will most likely set you up for a sleep study (you go to a lab for the night-they hook you up to monitor your sleep patterns all night. You get let out at 6 a.m.) Then, you find out if you have apnea. ANother test is a breathing test. A lab tech does this with you. (I remember being in a "booth" like a telephone booth..not sure how old you are...do you remember them?) Then the dr meets to give you the results. Once the pulmonologist cleared me, and the cardiologist cleared me, the surgeon met me (my paperwork had been approved) and scheduled me. I didn't think the pulmonologist was so bad.

They had me suck air thru a meter, there was a minimum number they wanted to see. It was kind of like a ping pong ball in a tube

Hi! I'm just down the road from you, in Brunswick County! Good to have found someone else fairly close!!!
I was "lucky" enough to have had a sleep study done a little more than a year ago to see if sleep apnea was causing the migraines I was having, so I didn't have to go through the pulmonary tests.
