Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well they sent off my paperwork finally to the insurance company one week ago. They say it will take about 2 weeks to hear from the insurance company. Anyway, I would like to ask for some advice. I am going to have knee surgery June 4th. I should be down for 1 week, but have planned to take off work for 2 weeks just to make sure. The surgeon's office said that once I get approval, I could have surgery in within 2 weeks. My son is getting married on July 14th. So -- if the approval comes through -- should I try to have the surgery b/4 the wedding? Or should I wait till after the wedding and give my body longer to get over the knee surgery b/4 another surgery. Thought you all would be the best people to help me sort this out so I am prepared to make the decision when needed.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well from my personal experience..... although the pain wasnt bad (for me ) post op.... i did find strenous things wiped me out big time and had lo energy for a good six weeks post op. THIS is major surgery and takes long time to heal on the inside. SO im thinking if you want to dance your toes off at the wedding and be able to with stand a long day .....I would do the surgery after the wedding......... ALSO you may be on a special diet the first 5 weeks post op and may find it hard to be at a once in a lifetime affiar and not be on food...... I would think this thru for sure as you are but i would do surgery after the affair. AS far as the time frame between surgeries i would let your surgeon decide how much time between. AND be sure he is aware your haveing this knee surgery... GOOD LUCK and of course keep us updtaed!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I am anxious for the surgery but I thought I should probably put it off till after. Thanks again.
