Default Panicking!

I started my pre-op diet last week. My surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday 4.10.12. I am scared that my surgery is going to be postponed because I didn't lose enough on the pre-op diet.
I met with the surgeon about 3 weeks ago. I weighed 288. Last week I went to see the nutritionist and I was 297!! I really didn't overdo it eating. I stopped taking the phentermine that the other doc put me on to help me lose weight. In my preop diet booklet that my surgeon gave me it says that I need to lose 10LBS while on the preop diet or my surgery will be postponed. So here's my problem. Do I need to lose the 10LBS from when I saw the surgeon last or when I saw the nutritionist?
I have been busting my butt this past week. I have gone to the gym everyday, on Saturday I went twice. The pre-op diet is not liquid, but I need to stay below 1200 calories. I've been eating between 500-800 calories including my protein shake. The foods I am eating are high in protein, low in calories. I am just so frustrated because I have been trying so hard and I'll be devastated if my surgery is postponed. Today I weighed myself and I was 288. PLUS I think that time of the month is coming up.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Okay, deep breath! Typically the pre-op diet is so that they can get your liver from being so fatty and they can do the RNY by Laproscope and not have to open you up. Your doc may have said 10 lbs so that he can get his patients to avoid "last supper" syndrome. Keep doing what you are doing and working out and when it comes time to get to your surgery I am sure it will be fine. You still have 7 days. My pre-op diet was liquid (which I think most of ours here were). Make sure your diet isn't including heavily salted items that make you retain water. Get your protein and your fruits in so you can void the other stuff too!

Think positive. It will be fine~!

my guess is the surgeon's scale and the nutritionists scale are different?? also depends on the time of day - and definitely the time of month... take each day as it comes and just follow the diet your surgeon gave you... try not to stress about it too much

Keep doing what you're doing and try not to panic. Easier said than done, I know. 10lbs seems like an awful lot to expect from you in 2 weeks (b4 surgery)... That being said, don't be afraid to eat. If you're only eating 500 calories you're body may be doing the starvation mode thing. I know this is hard but it's SOOO worth it. One more week!!! You can do this!!!

Thank you all for your support.

I had my weigh in today and I was down to 285.9! WOOHOO. The surgeon said nothing about my weight today. The MA said it looked great. I guess I'm all set!

I signed my consents and he gave me my prescriptions for after surgery. I'm getting so excited.

I have a habit of worrying over nothing. So stressful.

I'm praying that everything is a go with your surgery. Just one thing to think about... Depriving your body of calories will slow your metabolism causing you to gain weight or stay the same. If you are exercising the way you say you are, I would go back to the 1200 cal diet.
