Default checking out hospital and doctor

Someone told me that you can go online and check out the hospital and doctor that you are using and see what thier track record is with your type of surgery. Does anyone know how to do that?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

there is also a website you can go to and look up your doctor and any comments of patients. It is http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobe...php?s=surgeons maybe this can help you out as well.

I just called my surgeon's office and flat out asked. They told me and were very open about it. The surgeons are used to being asked that kind of thing. IF they do seem upset or offended, run very quickly and don't let them near you with any sharp objects....hehehe...

You can also check through the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery's site, as all bariatric surgeons are certified by this society.

Thank you Doc!
I don't know if you will be able to answer this, but I don't exactly know where to post at....I had a pulmonary emboli last May and came off of Coumadin in September of this year. I had blood work done last week to determine if I had a disposition to forming clots (the cardiologist who saw me while I was in the ER for the PE requested the work up two weeks ago) and the results were excellent and I do not have to go back on the Coumadin.

Will this past problem with the PE automatically rule me out for GBS?

I don't think it will, but your surgeon does need to know, so he can be extra careful, so he can take whatever steps that are necessary.

Thank you Doc. I only had blood clots because of being on birth control to regulate my cycle since I was not getting it but twice a year and then when I did....it was non stop for weeks.

But I did advise the representative yesterday of my known medical conditions and advised her of the PE and that I was taken off of Coumadin in September.

Thank you for your help, I have so many questions. I guess I better write them down so I don't forget to ask here and on Monday.
