Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I started my liquid diet today and didn't do so well. I had a slim fast low carb diet drink for breakfast which was nasty and was sick most of the morning from it. I got really weak and ended up ending a chicken breast for lunch. I feel so guilty. I don't think I can drink the slim fast stuff. I have the isopure dutch chocolate powder that I think I will try tomorrow. I don't know if I can live. Why did I feel so bad today and have a horrible headache. I was so weak this afternoon and didn't have any energy. I go for my pre-op appt tomorrow and will ask the surgeon. Has anyone else had a hard time with the liquid diet before surgery?

| Super Moderator | Carb detox often causes headaches and flu-like symptoms, from what I hear. You may have to ride it through, no matter how tough. Hang in there, you will get used to it. (((((HUGS)))))

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | That Slim Fast low carb stuff IS nasty. Just had some the other day. YEEECH!!!! I usually drink a can or two of chocolate or strawberry Atkins a day. It's not too bad. Don't get a whole lot of anything, just go slow and make sure it's really cold! Usually you can find something tolerable. (((((HUGS)))))

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | YEAH sorry i personally hate the slimfast shakes. I recommend these: EAS ADVANT EDGE - CARB CONTROL ready made protein shakes ...... here is the mfg site, i get them in walmart: EAS.com | ENERGY-ATHLETICS-STRENGTH might want to try these instead! hugs pre op liquid diets are hard and im glad i only had to drop weight and not do liquids only! BE prepared for the side effects of eating this way...its usually flu like symptoms the first 4 or 5 days! headaches, body aches.......blah.... but it leaves and u feel better
