Default Tomorrow I start the Liquid Diet

Today is my husband's birthday -- so we decided to make this one my last "free" meal. Tomorrow I began liquid for breakfast & lunch and then a very sensible dinner (chicken & salad, tuna, salmon etc...) I've been doing liquid breakfast all week to prepare and it is okay -- I actually don't feel deprived -- but I have to admit, the CIB seems to make me burp? Even with Lactaid milk -- Anyway -- I'm 12 days off from my surgery -- Countdown has begun.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I am thinking that CIB means carnation instant breakfast.....surgar free variety....
I was unable to drink that stuff post op it was just sweet for my early
stage sesative taste buds.....
I was better off with my EAS Advant Edge Carb control ready made shake.
GOOD LUCK and enjoy!
i only had to loose pre op weight not have liquid diet and i know that can be hard pre op!

I started mine Monday but mine is all liquid. Sometimes its really hard and other times I'm fine. Sometimes I feel like my stomach is eating itself. I have lost a few lbs though. Good luck.

Hang in there. It may not be the funnest or easiest part to do but its all so worth it in the end. Best of luck with the liquid diet.

tust me the first fue days are the worst sleepy, head herts, no energy i have been there it will get better. A great trick is the more water you drink the fuller you will be and you will not even crave the food its weard i know but its so true. when i was on liquis diet i was drinking 6 to 8 of the sport size poland spring bottles a day im not even jokeing i would drink 2 to 3 in the moring and take 3 to 4 to work and than 1 to 2 when i got home. flushes your sistem and cleans your sistem.

you will not regret the liquis diet when you get to the puree. It seems when you follow a strict liquid diet your little pouch handles the food better then someone how does not.

I looked at it this way

1. keep your eye on the prize!!
2. your preparing your body
3. you will have a better out come after surgery
4. WALK ( i cant stress that enough eather it helps not only with prepairing your body. I was walked a mile and a half in the hospital the day i left)
5. most important your doing it for your self

good luck with it. I wish you the best. and if you need anything im here i did straight liquid for 5 weeks i lost 4o pounds on it and i lost so well they moved my date up 2 weeks.

you can do it sorry i blabbed so long

one more thing and i will shut up lol I started my liquid diet on doctors orders i happened to fall on june 16,2007 wich happen to be my 27 birthday no cake for me we had my party the week before

Good Luck, just take it one day at a time. Like Ashley says keep your eyes on the prize. The time will fly!

My original surgery was scheduled for 6/18. I had to do the 2 week liquid diet then. I did wonderful! I planned my meals in advance for when i was away from home (not really a meal but you know what I mean), and I lost 25 lbs the day I went in for surgery.

Unfortunately, my TSH levels were too high to safely go under so they postponed it until 7/25. I had to do the 2-week liquid diet again at that time. I didn't do as well. Before I didnt cheat at all. This time I would have one meal not liquid but be good the rest of the day. I lost a total of 28 lbs prior to surgery between the two liquid diets.

It sucks, but drink crystal lite, buy sf jello you like and make it in advance and then put it into smaller containers you can carry with you. If you know you are going to be out, fill your water bottle with crystal like, pack your mini-cooler with sf applesauce cups, sj jello and then you will be prepared for anything.

I wish you the best of luck. It is the hardest thing you will have to do, until post op that it.
