Default 2 week liquid diet

I have been on the liquid diet for 5 days now and have not been able to stick to it for all my meals. I have two liquid meals a day but just to have something to EAT. Sometimes I feel like my stomach is eating itself. I am worried that this is a sign that I won't do good once I have the surgery. Everyone says that I will do fine after my surgery and that its really hard to do the liquid thing before surgery. I'm worried that I won't loose weight after I have the surgery. I know thats crazy but would like to know if anyone else has had slip ups when on their liquid diet.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I had to do the liquid diet for 5 weeks. trust me the key to makeing those diets work is literaly DRINK THE WATER weather you want it or not. I was drinking between 6 and 8 poland spring sport the big ones a day. most days i did the 8 or so I would have 2 to 3 before noon 3 to 4 between noon and 9:00 and 2 before i went to bed. yes you pee a lot but as i have stated before you are cleaning your system and doing the best job at prepairing it for this surgery. Im there for you if you need someone to talk to also I bough 3 coloring books and colored came to this site for support went to support groups croched and knitted also just go out and walk the walking is great before surgery when i would go to the groccery store i would park my car at the end of the parking lot and walk all the way there and all the way back. usualy by the time i got to the door i was no longer thinking about food. and i could do my normal shopping. I hope this helps a little good luck hun YOU CAN DO IT! when you put your mind to it we can do anything this road is long and i truly can say besides trying to make my marrige work its the hardest thing i have ever done

Default It ain't easy

Technically I'm on day five, but the first three I was only on one liquid a day because of business and family events. But I have been on two liquids and one light meal (at night) for two days now and it ain't easy. My evening meal is salad with either grilled chicken, salmon or tuna. Its not much, but it sure is a welcome relief to all that liquid! Yesterday by mid afternoon I was getting real testy -- I warned my husband that I was not responsible for my "b" moods before surgery. But I have found that you have to be real creative on this liquid diet thing. I make my mocha frappacino drink (with CIB). I also made myself a shake last night -- I used non fat milk, no sugar added ice cream and Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Cocoa -- it was real good and helped me ease into bed last night. This morning I weighed in four pounds lighter than yesterday, so it must be working! This morning I'm having a smoothie made with vanilla protein whey, light yogurt, non fat milk and blenderized berries. I may not be able to have those berries post op -- but they sure are good and helping me pre-op. I'm finding you have to be real creative. I also got unflavored protein to put in my soups. And yes, the more water and other liquids the better it is. As my husband says; at this stage you can still eat until your full -- its just all liquid. Hang in there, we'll get through this together!

I am officially on day 14 of my 2 week liquid diet! I am doing an extra 2 days because I decided to start early to allow for any slip ups. All I can tell you is that the broth reallyyyy helps alot. I had my SF Carnations Instant Breakfast in the morning and a SF jello pudding as a snack and drank an Atkins Chocolate shake for lunch and sipped broth through out the day if I felt hungry. The dinner is what I look so forward to each night. I didn't think that I was going to make it, but as everyone else said...just get past the first 4 days and then its a breeze. I had to focus on not cheating the first few days and then it was like second nature. I know that it is so very hard to do, but it is going to get you that much closer. You CAN do it. I like the Ramon noodle soups (minus the noodles) and Wonton Soup (minus the Wontons). I wish you the very best of luck.
