Yes...chapstick! And a lap blanket and your own pillow. I was so happy that my husband brought those for me. It gave me a piece of home. I also took my crocs (shoes) with me for walking up and down the hallway.

you wont need much else honestly. and my hospital wouldnt even let me wear my own slippers. they provided the ones with the rubber on the bottom. i guess someone fell and sued

I stressed to the lady at pre-op that they are like being "locked in a small closet" for me, so she wrote in bold letter across my chart "Nothing on the feet". But I really like the air boots...that was almost like when you get your feet done and they massage your calves!

I remember this time. Its very nerveracking. Honestly I packed so much stuff and never ended up touching anything in the bag. I had forgotten chapstick. So hubby went and bought some of that. But you may want a robe but I didnt use mine. I had two hospital gowns on. One going front ways and one going backwards. And I too had to wear those rubber socky things. But your own pillow would be a good comfort.

Yeah, they told us at pre-op to bring our own pillow so in case we needed it to hold on our belly in order to cough.

I have to be honest. While in the hospital, I was completely grossed out the last day there by how I smelled and looked. No one else seemed to care, but I did. I could not wait to get home and get showered. I had no shame when my mom and sister basically washed me in the shower. Deodorant was a lifesaver for me. My hair was so nasty from sweating out the pain meds. But, Ii would do it all again. Just remember to get up and walk as much as you can and sip, sip, sip! You will be fine.

I took my toothbrush...so glad I did...hair brush...again so glad I did...Deoderant , my own pillow and I was lucky enough to have the best nurses aides whom asked me if I wanted a sponge bath....I had no shame, it felt so good and on the last day they let me shower before I went home. I also used my crocs to walk all the nurses were talking about the lady with the BRIGHT GREEN croc..lol...I didnt even use my chapstick I used a washcloth dipped in water to wash my lips
