Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Had my Pre Op Excursion today. WOW...... I went in to have PST Pre Surgical Testing today. Went in at 12:45 and left at 3:45. None of it was spent waiting either. I got registered for the room etc.....went down to the lab....knew the lady very well, Went to Xray and was cleared, then up to PST. I have passed everything so far just waiting on the lab work to come back. . I got to see a dietitian today also. I was given her number and told to call about anything I have a question about before during and after. Seems she will be in to see me daily during my stay also. I was impressed. I did find out I will carry a drain home with me for a week. Its ok, I had one after I had my knee surgery and it wasnt bad. After reading how different Drs were in here I wasnt shocked when they give me my list of haves and dont haves for a while. Im pretty much on a full liquid diet for a month. Somthing i thought I would share is this..... I was told that some think resorting back to liquids helps alot if they stop losing weight. The reason they dont like it is because...... you can acutally get more calories in if you drink them in after a while rather than eating somthing. It Makes sense. So... nows the count down for me. I see the surgeon next Thursday then have surgry the following Wends. For any of you with a sure date.......time does fly when you get it. I have been told this so many times and it sure did. |
