Thumbs up Cybercast: Live Lap RNY gastric bypass

"Lite and Hope (www.liteandhope.com), hosted a live cybercast of a gastric bypass procedure on Anthony Davis, former football player.
The surgery, to be performed by Dr. Alan Wittgrove, the pioneer in the laparoscopic approach to gastric bypass surgery who has been performing these procedures since 1993. The cybercast will be hosted and narrated by singer Carnie Wilson, whose own bypass procedure in 1999 was the first to be shown live on the internet and became an inspiration to many who were considering the surgery. Today, almost seven years after her surgery, Carnie Wilson is 125 lbs. lighter, a new mom and the spokesperson for www.liteandhope.com, a role that gives her great joy and purpose.

Just wanted to give EVERYONE the opportunity to watch this cybercast Lap RNY...
I watched this the week before my surgery...and it really helped seeing exactly what was going to be done to me...
Hope you enjoy...here's the web link:

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thumbs up

Thanks, yeah we all watched it, my hubby, my son Matt, step son Andrew.
Matt says he feels alittle bit better.
I called him today right as soon as i got to the parking lot, and i told him my surgery was for May 22nd, and he goes mother, why so soon, i told him Matt its been 3yrs for me. He was upset, and he said i got to go.

But i think this helped him some tonight, and it made me feel better, as well, i was and am stressing.

So from all of us thank you for the link.

Oh i also droped another 13lbs, the doc was so happy. He asked me what i was doing and i told him Cameron, he looked at me and i told him he goes oh yeah say no more i understand. LOL

First of all welcome Becca I like your wise posts very much, and I fully agree that life is short and we have to be grateful to God that we're still alive :~)
Deb, how can you handle watching surgeries online or on TV I feel sick and need to throw up everytime I see blood or the inner parts of the body! But you're absolutely right when you know what's going on you feel more relaxed about the new pouch. I read about it but I don't think that I will be ready to watch the surgery.
Thanks anyway

chuppy, i think some of us are just a little more demented than others. (me for instance), i love to watch that kind of stuff. i even watched through a ceiling mirror and a haze of laughing gas when they straightened my toes. it just fascinates me at how much intrusion the body can take and also all the stuff they can do to make a body healthier.
thanks for the link , like i said i lost the other one. will be watching it today but not sure when

Some people can stand it, some can't
Kinda boggles my mind that there are people that want to watch something like that, but come to think of it, I was going for it by the time I was eighteen
Truth be told, the human body is one huge miracle, and fascinating in its complexity.
Besides, preparing yourself in every way possible helps you deal with the proccess and the recovery, too. And it gives you the incentive and values to do good by this surgery.
So, if you have nerves strong enough, go for it, but if you don't, then stay away!

you're right Doc there are some people who just can't handle hirror movies that like hehehe I can't.
You're 100% right about how we should be thrilled about God's miracle of creating every tiny bet of our body in that greatest perfection! I watched a BBC movie about the baby jorney in the mommys tommy I was stuned and couldn't believe my eyes!! actually I cried when I first saw it. it made me powerless infront of God's gigantic power, I felt helpless, and speachless.

Birdie wow you're a brave girl I envy you heheheh as much I'm curious and would love to know about our procedure as much I'm a cowred and can't watch it straight without hiding my eyes with my hands 3/4 the movie heheheh. I tried reading and something can brighten the mind without viewing or imagining the action
Stay healthy ya all

it is true isn't it. sometimes i think we lose perspective at how amazing the human body that God created is. it is kinda miind boggling.

funny about the horror movie thing chuppy, i can handle the slash and kill gory stuff but give me a psyhcological horror and i'm up for two or three nights. the amazement that a human brain can come up with such freaked out stuff does it to me.

recently i watched 13 ghosts. no chuppy you don't want to watch it it's pretty graphic, good but lots of blood and stuff so if anybody out there can handle that it is a movie that i recommend, (hey how did i get from the miracle of the human body to horror movies)? sorry

Talking You All Are Helarious!!!

It's great...not bloody...a little weird seeing fat and organs...but, VERY interesting to see what was going to be done to MY body...

THE body is an amazing miracle in itself...and I agree with all of you that it's an amazing creation that God invisioned and conceived. I agree Doody... with the miracle of life...wow....I think I saw that on Discovery too! I bawled too....I'm soooo thankful for my Isabella...I thank and praise God everyday that I'm a Mommy. ~

My Doctor is a FABULOUS doc...and I'm sooo thankful for him...but, I'll tell you what - I'm thankful that someone out there was given the vision and the knowlege by God to create this surgery to SAVE MY LIFE!!

Watching it on the Cybercam was like watching the Discovery conception story....absolutely AMAZING. And wow...all of that happened inside of me.

It also gives me patience for waiting on all the healing...& not pressing my pouch to do TOO MUCH!!
