Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Great list, having my surgery in 3 weeks, definitely taking this into consideration.

Reading through the comments, no one ever really gave a reply as to how they dealt with aqquaintances asking about the weight loss/body changes. Were all of you completely open about your surgery to the people who asked? I am kinda feeling like I dont want to tell more than the people that I really have to, at least at first, but I don't know what to tell wonderers... any advice?

Another question, are you not allowed to drink carbonated drink like ever again? My doctor did not mention this, he in fact referred to me drinking only diet sodas because regular sodas are a huge cause for dumping.

Likedorothy - Some doctors allow, it some don't. And it'll also depend on you and how you react to them. I personally can't drink them - I believe it's due to the way my surgery was done 18 years ago versus the way it's done now. When I drink them, the carbonation gets trapped in my gut and I have HORRIBLE pain. So I've gone from a Diet Coke addict to never drinking ANYTHING carbonated. Hey - I'm 18 years post op, so believe me - you get used to it.

For those whose doctors allow it...I still wonder why anyone WOULD drink them. They don't contain ANYTHING nutricious or halfway good for you. They're nothing but chemicals. You may want to consider just not drinking any diet sodas at all...there are a LOT of other alternatives....

Betsy

Oh - and people are all over the map with what they tell people - I personally told the truth as I'm not good at lying about anything. Others say they're on a strict diet and exercise program(which is true), other's say all kinds of things. Up to you on how you want to deal with it.
