|  Hospital vs. Clinic? Hey Everyone! Im new here, I have not had surgery yet. But Im hoping to! What Im wondering is what your experiences are on the difference between going to a hospital to have the surgery or doing it at a clinic? A hospital in the next town over does the laparascope surgery. However I know someone who had it done at the Barix Clinic. So I guess Im just wondering what you all used/preferred? Thank you! Keyna

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

Mine was named a center of excellance, which made me feel better too. **eta** I don't think the "hospital" is called the center of exellance, but I think the program Newstart that I used was given that title. They have a few rooms in the hospital that are "their" rooms so to speak. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I agree. Make an informed and educated decision. I'm not rushing into this decision lightly. I researched hospitals and Barix Clinics (which was formerly called Bariatric Treatment Centers), and I made the decision to go to Barix since the hospital only does gb surgeries and the surgeons were trained and only specialize in gb. I'm excited about meeting my surgeon. SHE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. |

I did not go out on the floor with the other bariatric patients, for some reason I was in a stepdown critical care room - never knew why.....
