Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Ok, this is embarassing to type...but I am sure those who have PCOS know what I mean. Since I was a child, I've been VERY HAIRY. I had a really thick moustache that I used to get teased about. Since I graduated high school, I have taken to the liberty of shaving like a man every morning. I hate it, I hate the ingrown hairs and I am wondering...will the GBS help alleviate my PCOS symptoms so I can stop shaving. I am sick of this. I am single and I believe in my heart that someday soon God will bring my soulmate into my life...but I will fel embarassed in the mornings to have to allow him to see me shave. Doc, what do you think? I know some people will tell me to wax...I have sensitive and thin skin...the last two times I got my eyebrows done, the tech ripped HUGE chunks of skin off and I refuse to get waxed anymore. I can't even wear a bandaid for fear of ripping my skin (It happened in the hospital last year when the nurse ripped off the tape and skin came off and it got infected!!!! IDIOT!) Doc? Anyone else? Will the surgery rid me of my PCOS and the hairy moustache and beard I have to shave every morning? |

| Super Moderator | A lot of people on this board have PCOS. Basically, yes, your symptoms should ease. I'm pretty sure someone posted a while back (and I mean quite a while back, you probably will have to go back to posts a year or older) that she was doing much better post op.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am PCOS and have been diagnosed as such since the late 80's when i was trying ton conceive my first baby. I never had regular periods, always heavy when i did and long lastingI did have the surgery and did successfully loose 143 lbs in 12 months. I will say it has made my TOM too regular now 21 days now which is causeing me to be anemic now...oh well just went to the doctor last night to discuss the this issue and we will due a sonogram next thursday to rule out fibroids, endometrosis type things for the heavy periods and if all is well i will get an endometrial ablation.....so go figure mz never regular now is too REGULAR!!! ANYWAY IT SHOULD HELP YA I WAS REALLY NEVER hairy from it but im sure symptoms will ease hugs
