Height: Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Just wanted to say Hi. I am currently considering RNY after 20 years of yo yo dieting. (lost 5stone plus five times). I see this surgery as my last hope. I am now starting to have second thoughts, The day of my first consultation I came away confident that this was for me and was going to work. However, I have got the loan forms through today (I live in UK and my only option is to self fund) dont know if it just the reality of spending soooo much money on myself or something elese. But I am really starting to worry - What if I spend all this money, put myself and family though all this to only sabotage it again and put the weight back on. Of course everytime I have lost weight in the past I felt much healthier, looked much better, had improved self esteem, had a better sex life just dont understand!!! Does anyone else feel the same. PLEASE HELP. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Yes there are always those doubts in the back of our minds but I think with this it is different. At least with me it is. This is a lifestyle change and I have adjusted my lifestyle and changed my ways. Best of luck with your decision. |

| Super Moderator | Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us. Your doubts and thoughts are quite normal, I think everyone has a living in the back of their brain wondering if they might fail the tool. For, it is a tool, and early on out, it will help you keep in line. You do need to learn and work the *program*, but the success rate is much higher than the conventional diet. Do a lot of search and research, take your time and try to read through this board as much as you can, and you will come to the conclusion that is right for you. (((((((HUGS))))))) May your journey go well.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You are worth it!! I was a self pay and didn't have any second thoughts about it. I wanted my life back and have never regretted spending the money at all. You can always make more money, but you only get one go around at life!~!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I was also self pay....and it's the best money I think I've ever spent. We all worry, because of what we've been through with diets in the past. But, this is a COMPLETE change....that you have to stick to. The pouch is a tool that helps you get the weight off while you adjust your eating habits. That adjustment is something you have to stick to! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I was ready to jump off the operating room table and go screaming out of the hospital I was so nervous and doubtful. My ins covered too. You're gonna wonder what you've done until you can start eating some semi-normal food. Just stick to the plan, like everyone says, support groups, message boards. You'll see there are alot like you, lots of questions, this is the place to come. Look at all the before and after pics, peoples success stories. Don't put yourself in a spot where you're reading all the risks over and over again, you know what they are by now, no sense getting yourself all worried over it. Yeah, things can happen. The better you take care of yourself and stick to your pouch requirements the less risk you have. If you abuse it, you're gonna suffer consequences. You didn't have that before. before, you over eat, feel bad about yourself, don't feel good. After surgery, your limitations keep you in check. Its not easy but you'll be happy you did it after a month or so when your clothes don't fit anymore, or you don't snore anymore. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR DECISION. WE'RE HERE FOR YOU.
