Hi, I'm new to this group and I'm excited to say my surgery is in 4 weeks!!! !-29-08! Right now I'm on the liquid diet (medifast) since 12-19-07 up until the day before surgery. I had a REALLY hard time the first week, especially over the holiday and then I was great. Now today all of a sudden I'm dying for the chicken nuggets I made my son and I'm doing everything I can not to eat just one. I decided to come on-line and just look around to occupy my mind and hope someone might have some encouraging words. I lost 10 lbs the first week and I don't own a scale so I'll find out tomorrow how I did this week. Wow, sometimes this is tough, but it's great to see the before and after pictures and think that could be me if I just stick it out a few more weeks! Anyways, thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I know it is tough, but it so worth it and if you have made one week I know you can make it a few more. Think of it as a fast and maybe incorporate it into a spiritual thing. There are many churches participating in a 21 day fast and pray time for the month of January. Maybe this will help you to hang on for the next few weeks. You have done a great job so far. 10 lbs is wonderful! Keep up the good work!

I give you tons of credit for sticking with a liquid diet. You are especially strong because as a mother you must prepare food for your family while only drinking your meals.
Want to know a secret? My children and husband are now far healthier since my weight loss. The foods that I allow into my home and that I prepare have given my husband an effortless 40 pound weight loss and a daughter who asks for my baked cauliflower as a snack. Hopefully I will instill in her healthy eating habits so she doesn't have to deal with obesity.
Take care and be strong. We are all here for you.

Phew... lunch is over and I didn't eat it! He didn't finish either, so I made him throw it away. I feel kind of light headed today, so I think I'm gonna have some chicken broth. I am allowed to have it, but I limit it since it's so high in sodium (even the low-sodium versions). But thank you ladies, coming on here , keeping occupied and hearing your encouraging words REALLY helped!

Just think, postop that little nugget will taste terrible (at least most of the stuff I tried that I was craving did)! The next few weeks will be a memory shortly and you'll be on the losers bench - hang in there

Actually, you're already on the losers bench, but you know what I mean

Well, I lost 5 more pounds which puts me over the 5% my insurance company required pre-op. Woo-hoo! It still sucks, but it's working!
