Weight Loss Method Weight Watchers | Hello to all. I am new to this site and find it extremely helpful. I am in the pre-op process. I have not surgery date scheduled as of yet, still doing the requirements. I am meeting next week again with my nutritionist and counselor for weight loss. I am not sure when they will schedule the surgery, but hopefully soon. I am looking forward to the surgery but I am also very very nervous. I have been diagnosed and I am currently being treated for depression. I also have a diagnosis of panic attacks but haven't had one for over 1 1/2 years. My fears consist mainly of possible dumping syndrome and being able to identify it as dumping rather than any heart troubles and I also have a real fear of transferring my addiction to something else. Does anyone have any words of wisdom on these two issues, as I really don't want to replace one addiction with another. Thanks for everone for the support and words of wisdom that a person can find in these forums.

| Super Moderator | Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us. Wishing you the best in your pre op procedures. About your fears, since you are already being treated for depression, I advice you to keep in close touch with your psych/therapist to help you through the transition while you are losing weight. Also stick to support groups, both online such as this one, and in person with the support group that your surgeon should have. The symptoms of dumping are not at all like heart trouble, actually. It's mostly GI symptoms like literally feeling sick and or feeling very sleepy because of low blood sugar. ((((((HUGS))))))) May your journey go well.
