Unhappy Getting nervous

Thankfully I work at a hospital (not the one where I'm having my bypass) and thankfully I made my family doc appt. over 3 weeks early because for some strange reason they didn't do a chest x-ray and she also wants me to have an echocardiogram (ultrasound of my heart) . I was supposed to have a chest x-ray when they did the upper GI . My EKG showed what is possibly normal variances or a thickening on the left side of my heart. She said even if it is thicker, it doesn't matter, it's just nice to know and the chest x-ray is standard. So I'll be setting those up tomorrow and I can't do them until thursday because I have appt's tues. (medifast check-up) and wed.(for my son). But they are very easy and quick, need no prep and I can do it right after work. Thankfully my doc will be all over this (I had my appt. with her at 3:30pm and she called me at home just now -7:30pm - to tell me) and my insurance company takes only 24-36 hours to approve. With all this prep and testing, they will know every inch of me is working fine enough for surgery! I'm scheduled for the 29th which is 3 weeks from tomorrow. I'm just happy I went early to see her - my bypass doc's office said I could wait until 2 weeks before. I know I'll be approved (that's what they keep telling me), I would just feel better if I actually was!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I know!!!! Call me crazy, but I wont feel like Im totally done until I pay the last copay for my surgery. I was happynervousexcited pre-op, then scared, then omigosh what have I done, then finally felt like I'd arrived. Then when it took 3 months to pay for the $75K surgery - that was nerve wracking too! See, here's the cool part - you're probably kinda savvy to what needs to happen medically, so you knew when to book those appointments. As far as the EKG is concerned, I saw my report (can't remember what the wording was now, but it sounds similar to what you wrote) but nobody ever told me a word about it and now I keep wondering what it was all about--guess I should ask, huh? I'm pullin' for ya - hang in there! One thing about it, the more stuff you have to do, the faster time will fly by! Take care.

Thank you so much! I'm much more relaxed today. I made my appt. for thursday (for echo & chest x-ray) right after work and my doc faxed the order over and I even pre-registered already! I went for my medifast check up today and they assured me that everythig is fine, nothing will delay surgery and these extra tests will just make it easier for the insurance company. I go for my pre-op tests (2nd EKG, labs...) and my pre-op with the doc next tuesday, so it's getting close!!!!!!

Imi - wow, that's so cool! I wish there was a way I'd know how your surgery went! We'll be doing eveything at basically the same time! What is your post-op diet like? Mine will be clear liquids for the 2 days in the hosp and 7 days after
(so 9 total). Then puree or fork tender for 4 weeks. This way we'll know where the other one is!
