Thumbs up Surgery Friday! Pre-op done today!

My goodness, they sure do a lot of testing for pre-op! I think they examined every thing they could- really the only bad part was the arterial blood gas. OW! (barium stuff was nasty, but tolerable)

Surgery is Friday- I am so nervous. People keep expecting me to be excited but I am just nervous. Is that how others felt? I can't say it feels exciting to electively go into a surgery to forever re-route my digestive system! Well, at least I AM excited about the end result.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Pre-op stuff sucks (and yeah that blood gas hurts!), but just try to relax and think of how wonderful you're going to look and feel. Mines in 3 weeks and I'm more excited than nervous right now, but that'll change soon - when it's my turn!!!!!!!!!

I just had my surgery on Wed 1/2/08. Got out of the hospital Saturday morning. I was thinking the same things. When they took me in to change and start the iv. I hit the bathroom because the tears keep seeping out of my eyes...THE MOMENT OF TRUTH...the surgery is soo life changing, I felt better once I focused on the all the reasons I had decided to have the surgery. Good luck

Yep, it's a toughie! I remember like it was yesterday! If it helps any, I honestly think the pre-op nerves are about the worst of it. My post op was a bit challenging but that week or so before drove me nuts. We'll be here anxious to hear from you when you're up to it. You'll love these boards while you're recuperating - especially when you're up at 3am! Wishing you a textbook surgery and smooth recovery!

This is a major surgery. Good thing that your surgeon wants to be on top of everything.
Roller coaster nerves are normal.
