Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome and thanks for joining us. All are welcome here! Even though you're the first Realizer here I don't think you'll be the last. Your experience and insight will be a help for others as they follow.

Wink I'm New on Here as a Realize Bandster!

I'm trying to figure this site out still. I have been on the OH site and just found this one. I was banded on 7/20 and it has been slower than I thought. Food is going down pretty easy and my first fill was 5cc's on 8/23. I will have my 2nd fill next week 10/4. I have lost about 28 lbs. but afraid to get on the scale to check. I hope they're right about taking 2-3 fills to get to the "sweet spot" and be satisfied.

You sound like me and you are not too far ahead of me too. Are you feeling satisfied with since you had your 2nd fill and at 6cc's? I have to get motivated again and start tracking and visiting these sites.

I have been to a few support groups and you are right, most all of them are RNY so it doesn't really pertain to us bandsters. Well, I wish you well and thanks for sharing... I will try to set this profile up now!

I had the Realize Band installed on June 8, 2009 by a phenomenal surgeon in Mesa, AZ.

As of current, I have had 2 fills, totalling 6cc's in an 11cc band.

I haven't had too many complications other than the occasional bout of nausea.... which I've been told is fairly normal for the first 6 months or so post-op.

I have lost nearly 40lbs so far.... slow and steady. I will admit, it can be frustrating to go to support groups and see friends who have had RNY or other surgeries who have lost 2 or 3x the weight.... but in the end, the Realize band was the best choice for me.

Anyway... I'm rambling... but like I said... if anyone wants to talk Realize Bands.... let me know!!

Hi, I am one of the newbee's but believe I have the Realize Band now since 9/13/2010. Not really sure how to use this site yet, but think I am learning. Don't know what a thread is yet or how to post one, not even sure if I am doing this right. Oh well, old dogs will learn new tricks, I am 60 and not been trained too awful much on computers. Hope to learn more and find some friends here. Thanks for listening.

I have a Realize Band (6/30/2010). My doctor uses both Lap and Realize, he chooses for you based on what he sees during surgery (he mentioned the size of the esophagus). They are basically the same mainly. Glad to see another bander!!

I got a band, but it's the "old" style, so I am not sure if that's Realize or not. I have had 6 fills but I don't know how much. I feel ignorant now.

Default band vs RNY

Glad you mentioned that, are you on vitamin supplements, any other problems?
