For me it was just a matter of putting things into perspective- I had tried to loose weight my whole life, the many many weight loss battles and the up and down yo-yo effects always ending up failing and gaining more weight at each attempt.
I knew personally that if I didn't do the RNY I would find some way to cheat the system, even as badly as I wanted to loose weight I had been defeated so many times I honestly didn't even believe that surgery would help me win my battle, but after alot of research (over 3 years) I just knew with a very solid resolve that it was the thing for me. I have no regrets.
One thing for sure, even though you experience ALOT of physical changes throughout the journey after surgery, you will most definetly experience ALOT of mental and emotional changes as well, so just go into the whole ordeal with your mind wide open and learn as much as you possibly can about the before and after life. That seems to help alot with the before surgery jitters. Best wishes to you!
