 |  Having Low Iron & Low Platelets Post-Op.
I had Gastric Bypass surgery last February 2009. Since then, I have had Iron Deficiency Anemia and Low Platelets. Can the Low Iron level be causing the Platelets to decrease?? I think I have heavy periods, too. I am a 27 year old female.

Iron deficiency and low platelets are unrelated. You probably will need a bone marrow aspiration to determin what's causing it.

In December, I talked to my family doctor about this and he said Iron helps with blood production. I gotta CALM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!
