Default Excited????

Hello everyone, I am having my surgery on March 1. I am both excited and aprehensive. I understand that this is normal, and with all my past failures with diets I know this is going to be the best thing for me to do.

I am looking forward to chatting with you folks as I (we) go down the path to a healthier me.

Any suggestions as to how to combat these jitters?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Look ahead! Think about how much better you're gonn feel, how much more energy you'll have, and how much money you can save on meds if your on any. I was so antsy pre-surgery, but from being admitted to discharged 2 days later, it went like clock work. I stayed in recovery for hours b/c there were no beds available on the gi surgery unit; had to get up and walk 2 hours after I finally got to a bed. I wasn't catherized so trips to the bathroom with the iv pole was a challange. On the 2nd day I was showered, dressed, and had taken a few laps around the unit by 6:30 am. Went home in the afternoon, and stopped at walmart. There've been a few bumps and potholes in the road, but all in all it's been good every since. Make sure you take "before" pics and measure yourself. You'll be amazed at how fast the changes will take place. My prayers are with you for your surgery and recovery. Let us know how you're doing as soon as you can.

Welcome, RKK!! Some time ago, your mind made a conscious decision based on a calm analysis of all the information you had. What kind of surgery, success rates, failures rates, risks, benefits, motivation, etc. For months now you have been acting according to that decision. You have made changes in your life based on your beliefs that WLS is a good thing, is the right thing, for you.

Now you're coming closer and the fears are out with a late campaign to scare you away from your goal. You're starting to realize just how far out of your comfort zone this will take you. The unknown is getting closer. Of course you're getting a case of nerves!!

This is totally normal. The vast majority of us who have had any form of WLS have been through it. And we have come out the other side smiling and wondering what the big deal was.

If you listen to your fears, will anything in your life change? If nothing changes, how will you feel about that?

Hang on for three more days and the world will be at your feet!! You've come this far - take it all the way!

Of course, if for some good reason you decide that this is not your time, you have to listen to that. We had a lady a couple of years ago who backed out the day before. We loved her anyway, and she continued as a valued member of the RR family. A year later she was back at it and went all the way this time. She has had great results. But she has a bit of regret that she delayed the blessings of WLS in her life for that year.

Hang in there!! Your day to shine is almost here!!!

Default Just had surgery 8 days ago.

I just had surgey 8 days ago, the first two days in the hospital was horible for me due to not tolerating the pain medication. Then the first two days after coming home I was extreamly angry with my self and wanted to die. THEN I remembered why I did the surger and started to laugh, I want to be a better person for my husband, work and for myself. I am here to tell you GO FOR IT. EMBRACE THE Surger and the process. It is tuff, but it is already worth it 8 days after surgery. I am off my blood preasure meds and my thyroid meds. Life is beautiful already.

Thanks to one and all for your kind and encouraging words!!! I am going to go through with the surgery I have all the confidence in the world in my surgeon. I know it is going to be a long strange trip, but one that in the end will be worth it.
