Question sleeve & sticture what?

Hi all, I just got out the hospitol today after a 4 day stay. I had part 1 of the Ds (or sleeve) on th 9th of Feb. had my 2 week check-up everything fine lost 33 pounds ,I say about the 3rd of March I start having trouble keeping everything down, water, tea anything and everything,of course I thought your eating and drinking to fast ,kept at it, still finally after feeling weak and tired I called my surgeon they told me to drink warm tea and they would call in the mourning, tea they called and told me to come in, they gave me an upper GI to check for a stricture which I didn't think I could get with just the sleeve, will yest shows there is a small twist in my stomach (food go's down then a tight spot then go somemore then the opening)My surgeon asked me did I feel any sharp pain or did I get something stuck (answer no) I just started and being nastuated out of no where. well after 4 days in hospitol pumped with iv fluid and started back on clear liquids I was released after I was able to keep liquids down. My surgeon said if they have to scope me he wasn't sure if it would help. Im a little concerned and I asked him so many questions but now that I'm home ,I'm still confused will this happen everythime I eat or is it I just needed extra healing time? chime in guys, I know not very many have only the sleeve but can use some advice or even more questions to ask him when I see him this week. Thanks

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi guys, I am new on this site and am from a foreign country but I really need to ask a stupid question: What is a stricture? I haven't heard of this yet.

Fegan,
a stricture is when the new hole between the pouch and the intestines starts to close up. Your body knows there's not supposed to be a hole there and tries to close it up, blocking your ability to pass food and eventually even liquids. It's fixed by a simple routine where they go down your throat to the stoma and stretch it. It happens to a lot of people early after the surgery.

A stricture could happen. Not like the RNY, but part of your stomach is cut off, and stapled into a narrow tube. The staple line could pucker up and get twisted, which will cause a narrowing of the passage. Once the swelling around the staple lines go down, things should be better.
