Second day of liquids is about to come to an end and really it hasn't been that bad..I did get alittle lucky..dr said 14 days liquids but the way it worked out with me its only 13 days and then its surgery time. Hubby is having a hard time dealing with me not eating. Someone help me out here..Last night he wouldn't eat because I couldn't eat..Tonight he wanted to close the bedroom door so I couldn't smell it..I did tell him that he couldn't go on forever doing this, that I was the one that would have to adjust..I do have strong willpower..Thank God..want to thank you all for support and inspiration...get the bench ready!!! I'm so nervous and excited....

My husband did the same thing to me, he did not want to eat in front of me eighter. It got a little worse after the surgery. I told him, eat, I did all of this to myself by eating too much and he needed his strength to help me out after the surgery and past the surgery. I told him I really love that he was being supportive and considerate, so now you need to take care of yourself so I will have you around for a very long time. It worked.
Now he has full meals that he likes and I have my little bit that I am allowed and it is working out better then ever.

Glad you're doing so well so far. Days 3 & 4 are the hardest. Your body is detoxing from decades of carb abuse, and about tomorrow will be forced to switch its metabolic processes as the glucose stores dry up. Then it has to start burning fats. While it makes the transition you may have all the classic symptoms of drug withdrawal - headaches, nausea, etc., etc.
Be prepared and it's not so scary, but if you're not expecting it, it can be really hard. It'll clear up in a day or two.
Hang in there! It's gonna be sooooo worth it!!

Hey There,
I am in the same phase as you... Aren't we SOOO lucky (the answer is YES) but still... he he he
I am on day 4 and have been pretty good. I pureed some broccoli soup tonight because I couldn't help it, but overall I have been perfect and am so happy. I know you can do it too... It seems to be easier doing this particular liquid diet since I know it will only benefit me in surgery and after surgery. I only have 5 days of this left (woohoo) with one of those days, Thursday being only CLEAR liquids while I am doing the colon cleanse thingy... I am thinking that when I am doing that I won't FEEL like eating anything so it should be pretty easy.
What kind of liquids are you using? I am just wondering compared to what I am doing... I have been doing only protein shakes, water (first two days) and now am adding pureed soups... I don't really want to allow any kind of popsicles or ice cream because they are high in calories, but I also had a friend who had the BAND (unsuccesfully) and one of the things that she just LOVES is ice cream because it goes down so easy, so therefore I am scared of it... lol ( I know they are different surgeries, but still)
Anytime you want to talk, let me know. It looks like we will be only a week or so apart, so we will be facing the same challenges together. I am so excited too, we are going to be part of the "bench" club soon....

You can get the SF popsicles at Wal-Mart in bags of 12, 6 flavors repeated twice. Grape, cherry, orange, coconut, banana and blue (I haven't figured out yet what that one is, but I like it.) It's about $2- a bag. DO NOT confuse it with an almost identical bag that has 18 in it!! They're full-strength sugar added. The SF pops will be a lifesaver immediately post-op.
