By this time on Wednesday, I'll be on the loser's bench!!!
The anticipation is getting so high, it's hard to concentrate on the normal - like paying bills and cleaning. Playing with my kids this weekend took high priority since I know they can't play "on" me for the next few weeks. I have a 20 month old who literally walks all over me and that will be a very hard thing to say no to.
On a very positive note, my mother in law is finally coming over to my side. My husband's family is all thin and they don't understand the weight loss struggle. When I first told her about surgery, she was not very positive.
Today she told me that both she & my father in law will be at the hospital to support my husband. That to me, is such a big deal as my surgery is a 45 min drive one way. Also, if it's a late surgery, she's offered to pick up the kids from daycare.
As she said to me today, we want to be there to support you. I almost broke into tears!!! I also think she'll be the biggest watcher of what I eat in the future - I was telling her about my purchases for the pureed portion and she just kept repeating how it's a lifestyle change and it's forever.
Yup - I realize that - I know the hardest part is in front of me, but now I know I have family support and that just warms my heart!!! My mom died in 2005 and I'm just so blessed to have wonderful in-laws!

Aimee, my mom died in 2005 too. I sure wish she could have seen me lose all that weight she so politely and sweetly "reminded" me of every now and then!  But I think she knows. And I'm sure your mom is rooting for you this week, too.

I'm so happy for you Aimee that you have your In-Laws. I lost my Mother in June of 2007. The day before she passed I promised her someway somehow I would loose this weight. I know she will be by my side the day of my surgery just as your Mother will be by yours~ | |
