Thanks for the info on this matter. It was really bothering me as everyone was saying drink drink drink, but only sip. There would be no way to stay hydrated for as much as I drink and sweet.
Also how long will it be until I won't need my bp meds and water retention pills?
14 days until surgery and very excited. I don't seem to be at all worried about the surgery it's self but it's the after that's got me apprehensive

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Your meds question has to be answered by your doctor. No one here is qualified to predict the future like that. But a lot of folks here have stopped taking a bunch of meds in a very short time after surgery.

six days out of surgery and have lost 7kilos (15.4 pounds) have been to the mall absolutely no pain after the first day. I find it very easy to get enough water, which was my biggest concern. Tomorrow the doc will start me on puree foods for two weeks then it's reg food. I have a tee time for 8 days from now so it will be interesting to see if the weight loss at that time will allow me to play 18 holes with my hip and knees. God I feel better!!!! can anyone tell me how to update my weight loss scale on this site? Thanks to all David

WOW, I am 3 weeks out and have lost 12 pounds. You are doing well. Have you checked with your surgeon about golfing that early out? I pulled something that was very painful climbing down the ladder from our pool and that was nearly 3 weeks out. Would hate to have you deal with the pain I have had.

Also, so glad to hear you are doing so well, I haven't even thought about anything more than a department store since surgery (but I keep injuring myself too...)

If you go to the top left there is a tab that says user CP, go there and you can edit your profile to change your weight. I don't remember the exact terminology but it is towards the top on the left when you get to the user CP page.

Keep up the fantastic work!

Well a bit of an update Got out of the hospital on the 23 of Aug and on the 25 took my wife to the airport then rode the train back into the city for the rest of my stay near the hospital.Went to the malls every day to walk and by the end of the day was pretty well tired out on Sat the 28 went for my check up and Doc was well pleased. my legs look like legs not tree stumps and have not taken Lasics since the surgery and BP is down a little. Left Bangkok on the 30th for the drive home and stopped off about half way to stay for golf so went to the driving range on the 31 and after a very cautious start found that there was absolutely no pain and end the session hitting well. the next day I played 15 holes (couldn't do the last 3 to tired but no pains) The next day drove to home. I must say I feel really great much more so than I expected and my previous concerns about water intake were much ado about nothing. My hip and knees don't hurt any where near as much so the next goal is 18 holes!!!!!!!!! Best to all and keep your spirits high David
