Just wanted to post a quick "follow up" for any preops to this post.
Today is day 6 after surgery and I feel much, much, much better!!!! I honestly do. I feel "human" again. The gas is gone, nearly all the nausea, and I have even done some running around and driving and of course walking every day, etc.
For each of us I think it is really a matter of time of when our bodies "clear out" the last of the anesthesia and shock (trauma) over the surgery we've had and begun to truly heal up the wounds and internal surgery. Sadly, the older you are, more health problems you have going INTO the surgery, etc...The longer that can take.
I truly FELT (starting yesterday of all days) like I was firmly on the Losers Bench and just beginning to go..."Ah, Ok...The journey is getting better. It will get even BETTER!"
As most of these generous and kind folks of a year or more out have said, it truly IS a day by day journey to be savored and enjoyed.
I chose to do this surgery to relieve severe nearly crippling pain in my back, and other health issues. I am down now nearly 20 lbs, and the pain from the crushed lower back has not bothered me ONCE in nearly 10 days.
Warmly,
Jackie
