Default lactose intolerance

I have developed that lactose intolerance after surgery that I had read about. For others who have had this: is it temporary or life-long? I have a friend who has been lactose intolerant all her life and she uses pills when she eats. Does that approach work for us, too?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I was lactose intolerant before and I am WAY lactose intolerant now. In between the dumping from sugars and stuff on ICE CREAM and MILK.. Ugh, so not worth it. Cheese just makes my stomach bother me.

I stick with lactaid milk/chocolate milk. Havent tried their ice cream recently, though. Anything soy or lactaid normally goes well. I also take those lactaid pills OTC as well.

Hope this could help.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on joining the Losers' Bench.
(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Some stay lactose intolerant, I have noticed some say they do better further out from surgery, so that may factor in. It you are really badly intolerant, lactaid pills can be used. If not that bad, then avoiding dairy may be enough.

hey there I'm 10 years in and I've been LI the whole time, i also cant have eggs and beef starches can be a prob for me as well. I've try-ed the pills and it never worked out for me. I can't do soy, rice milks as well, they tend to make me dump. I can't have fresh cheeses, sour cream, cream cheese. Thankfully i can have cottage cheese and hard aged cheese's. I snack on string cheese alot. Love those 50 calorie sticks lol

I have lactose intolerance. I had some before surgery for years. My doc said
surgery could make it worse.
I can eat cottage cheese, and no longer can eat my fav Cholbani yogurt.
I don't drink milk ugh, but use lactose free when cooking or eating
cereal.
I think people have it in degress...some really bad, some not so bad..
but, I can live with it.
Good luck adapting, you can too once you know your limits.
